Abstract: An electrically operated brake device includes an electric motor pressing friction member against a rotating member, and a returning mechanism moving the friction member in a direction away from the rotating member when the electric motor is not energized. The returning mechanism includes a spiral spring and a housing. The spiral spring includes a restraint section. The housing includes a holding surface. When the electric motor is rotated in a forward direction, the restraint section presses the holding surface, and the spiral spring gives a returning torque in a reverse direction. When the returning torque exceeds a predetermined torque, the restraint section slips out of the holding surface. The holding surface is inclined with respect to a normal line surface including a contact part between the restraint section and the holding surface and an axis line of the rotating shaft.

Abstract: There is provided an electric braking device for a vehicle, which includes a brake caliper which is provided to a wheel, a pressing member which is provided to the brake caliper and is driven to press a friction member to a rotary member fixed to the wheel, an electric motor which is a power source to drive the pressing member, an electric power/signal line which supplies electric power to the electric motor or allows a first electric circuit provided in a vehicle body to communicate with a second electric circuit provided in the brake caliper, and a connector which relays the electric power line. The connector includes a terminal joining portion which joins one terminal and another terminal to each other, and the one terminal and the another terminal are made of metal. The terminal joining portion is positioned inside the brake caliper.

Abstract: Provided is an electric braking device wherein a friction member is pressed, via a piston driven by an electric motor, against a rotary member that rotates integrally with a vehicle wheel, thus generating a braking force on the vehicle wheel. The electric braking device is provided with: a controller for controlling the electric motor; a rotation angle sensor for detecting a rotation angle of the electric motor; and a return mechanism for applying a return force to a piston in a direction away from the rotary member. Furthermore, the controller executes a proper/improper determination to determine whether the return mechanism is operating properly on the basis of a change in the rotation angle after conduction of electricity to the electric motor is stopped.

Abstract: This brake control device includes: an operation amount sensor which detects the brake operating member operation amount; front-wheel and rear-wheel actuators which generate braking force in front/rear wheels; front-wheel and rear-wheel sensors which detect the outputs of the front-wheel and rear-wheel actuators; and a controller which controls the front-wheel and rear-wheel actuators based on the operation amount and the outputs of the front and rear wheels. On the basis of the operation amount and/or the output of the rear wheels, the controller determines whether or not a long-term low-load state in which the friction member is continuously pressed against the rotary members of the rear wheels within a predetermined range over a long period of time is established. If so, the distribution ratio of the rear-wheel braking force to the total applied braking force is decreased compared to when a long-term low-load state is not determined to be established.
