Abstract: A brake device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a power transmitter configured to advance or retract a piston to press a pair of pad plates, to which brake pads are attached, toward a disk, a driving motor configured to provide rotational force to the piston, a parking actuator connected to the driving motor to maintain parking braking state of a vehicle, and a controller configured to control the driving motor and the parking actuator, and control the parking actuator based on a rotational position of the driving motor and a clamping force due to contact of the disk with the brake pads.

Abstract: A control device and a method for controlling traveling speed of a vehicle for the purpose of maintaining a vehicle speed equal to or lower than a pre-set downhill speed (vdh-set). The method comprises simulating a vehicle speed profile for an upcoming road section if braking at a pre-identified power level (P1, P2, P3) would currently be requested, thereby obtaining a predicted maximum vehicle speed (vP1,max, vP2,max, vP3,max) and a predicted time until a vehicle speed equal to or within a pre-selected interval (Idh) of the pre-set downhill speed is reached. The method further comprises, if the predicted maximum vehicle speed is equal to or below the pre-set downhill speed (vdh-set) and the predicted time is below a preselected threshold time limit, requesting braking at the pre-identified power level or at an adjusted power level.

Abstract: A brake system for actuating a pair of front wheel brakes and a pair of rear wheel brakes includes a reservoir and a deceleration signal transmitter. First and second power transmission units are configured for selectively providing pressurized hydraulic fluid during a braking event. The first power transmission unit actuates a selected one of the front wheel brakes and a selected one of the rear wheel brakes. The second power transmission unit actuates the other one of the front wheel brakes and the other one of the rear wheel brakes. First and second electronic control units control the first and second power transmission units. A pair of rear brake motors selectively electrically actuate rear wheel brakes. Multiplex control of each of the pairs of front and rear wheel brakes is provided by an arrangement of first and second parallel valves for each wheel brake.
