Abstract: Some embodiments provide a navigation application with a novel declutter navigation mode. In some embodiments, the navigation application has a declutter control that when selected, directs the navigation application to simplify a navigation presentation by removing or de-emphasizing non-essential items that are displayed in the navigation presentation. In some embodiments, the declutter control is a mode-selecting control that allows the navigation presentation to toggle between normal first navigation presentation and a simplified second navigation presentation, which below is also referred to as a decluttered navigation presentation. During normal mode operation, the navigation presentation of some embodiments provides (1) a representation of the navigated route, (2) representations of the roads along the navigated route, (3) representation of major and minor roads that intersect or are near the navigated route, and (4) representations of buildings and other objects in the navigated scene. However, in the declutter mode, the navigation presentation of some embodiments provides a representation of the navigated route, while providing a de-emphasized presentation of the roads that intersect the navigated route or are near the navigated route. In some embodiments, the presentation shows the major roads that are not on the route with more emphasis than minor roads not on the route. Also, in some embodiments, the presentation fades out the minor roads not on the route more quickly than fading out the major roads not on the route.

Abstract: A computing device includes one or more microphones that function seamlessly with other components within the computing device. In one embodiment, a microphone opening is disposed underneath a keyboard with a channel from the microphone to an opening between the keyboard webbing and a keycap of the keyboard. In another embodiment, two microphones can be spaced apart from a keyboard region of the device and a third microphone can be disposed underneath the keyboard region with an channel from the microphone to an opening between the keyboard webbing and a keycap of the keyboard.

Abstract: An apparatus for capturing a test image that can be used in calibrating a camera. In some embodiments, the apparatus reflects light toward the lens of a camera such that a central target subject is captured at the center while a reflection of that same target subject is reflected to each corner of the test image. The apparatus includes an adapter for holding a set of mirrors in the field of view of the camera, each mirror reflecting a target at the center of the field of view. The apparatus of some embodiments is configurable to change the angle of the mirrors based on a focal length of the lens of the camera.

Abstract: The present application describes various embodiments regarding systems and methods for providing efficient heat rejection for a lightweight and durable compact computing system having a small form factor. The compact computing system can take the form of a desktop computer. The desktop computer can include a monolithic top case having an integrated support system formed therein, the integrated support system providing structural support that distributes applied loads through the top case preventing warping and bowing. A mixed flow fan is utilized to efficiently pull cooling air through the compact computing system.

Abstract: A rack system for one or more computing systems is described. The rack system may include support structures, or rack structures, and a housing affixed or un-affixed to the support structures. The rack system may include rails, including telescoping rails, affixed to the support structures and coupled to the computing system. When the rack system is in a closed position, the computing system is positioned within the housing. When the rack system is in an open position, the computing system is removed from the housing and the components of the computing system are accessible. In the open position, only components on one surface of the circuit board are accessible. However, the computing system can rotate, thereby placing the components on the opposing surface of the circuit board in an accessible position. Alternatively, the housing can be affixed to the computing system, and include modifications for access to the computing system.

Abstract: An electronic device can include first and second housing components and an electrical grounding feature located therebetween to provide a grounding path. The grounding feature can include an outer portion formed from an electrically conductive material and an internal region containing a removable expansion element. The grounding feature can exert an expansion force against the housing components when the device is assembled and the expansion element remains, and exert no expansion force against the housing components when the expansion element is removed. The device can also include an adhesive coupling the electrical grounding feature to the housing components, which adhesive can be electrically conductive. The expansion element can be deformable and removable from an open end of the grounding feature outer portion, which outer portion can be elastic and can deform to contact more of the housing components when the grounding feature is compressed therebetween.
