Abstract:
Conversion of a network site from a particular network site development platform to a different network site development platform may be facilitated by a network site conversion service. The merchant may provide the network site conversion service with a uniform resource locator that references a home document of the network site. The network site conversion service may traverse the source network site to determine the source network site's internal structure. The collected data may be analyzed. For example, aspects of the source network site may be mapped to components of the destination network site development platform. A converted network site may be generated based on the analysis. For example, the aspects of the source network site having mappings to the components of the destination network site development platform may be implemented with those components in the converted network site. The converted network site may then be published.
Abstract:
Processes for classifying, and dynamically adjusting, tiers for web services are described. Depending on the classification of the web service, support resources (e.g. servers, storage, bandwidth or other communications resources, etc.) may be configured in different ways, such as, for example, sharing resources among one or more of the web services, or isolating the resources for particular web services from those of other web services. Various electronic storefronts may be provided by a service provider to merchants/customers of the service provider. The service provider may classify each of the electronic storefronts for the merchants to a plurality of tiers. Such classifying may be performed, for example, during an enrollment of the merchant with the service provider, and/or during operation of the electronic storefront.
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for securing execution of page generation code supplied by customers. The page generation code may be instrumented with code that facilitates monitoring of one or more resources consumed by the page generation code. Various compile-time checks relating, for example, to code size and whether exception-handling code is present may be performed. The page generation code is executed to generate a network page in response to a request obtained from a client. One or more resource consumption limits are enforced upon the page generation code.
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments relating to generating portions of network pages associated with a network site, where the portions of the network pages are generated by page generation code that uses a subset of aggregated data provided to it. A request for a network page is received from a first party. Data is aggregated from one or more data sources in response to the request. Each data source provides multiple data items using a multipart encoding. Page generation code supplied by the first party is executed to generate at least a portion of the network page in response to receiving a subset of the data which is used by the page generation code. The page generation code is able to access the subset of the data as predefined variables.
Abstract:
Techniques for providing a network auditing service may be provided. Information about a configuration of a potentially compromised network of computer resources may be compared to a maintained and standard network configuration that is distinct from the potentially compromised network to determine differences. In one example, the potentially compromised network of computer resources may be periodically scanned for configuration information, which may be compared to the standard network configuration to determine if any changes have occurred that would indicate security problems. A report of the differences between the potentially compromised network and the standard network configuration information may be generated and provided for presentation.
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments that facilitate error handling in a network resource generation environment. A request for a network resource is obtained from a client. The network resource is associated with a network site hosted on behalf of a first party by a second party. Resource generation code supplied by the first party is executed by a framework in response to the request. A customized error network resource is sent to the client in response to determining that an error has occurred in the framework that executes the resource generation code.
Abstract:
When a first search query including an image of an item is received to search for items associated with similar images, a second search query that includes text based on the image is generated. The text may be based on previous queries associated with the depicted item, visual features of the image, or text that is present in the image. The results from the first search query are scored based on their correspondence with the image of the item. Results having a score greater than a threshold are presented first in the output, followed by a selected number of results from the second search query. Results from the first search query that are associated with a score less than the threshold may be presented after the results from the second search query. This presentation increases the likelihood that items presented earlier in the output are relevant to the initial query.
Abstract:
Template-driven data access is enabled. A collection of data model component identifiers that are accessible for use by view developers may be established. View developers may specify views of the data model with a view description language and may utilize accessible data model component identifiers to reference data model components that may be rendered in the views. The views may be in accordance with a Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture. In contrast to a conventional MVC architecture, changes to a view do not require changes to a corresponding controller. For example, view developers may create, update, modify and delete views independent of the activity of controller developers. In accordance with at least one embodiment, there is a universal controller for views specified with the view specification language and/or utilizing the predefined collection of accessible data model component identifiers.
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for generating network pages for customers that include customer-generated page portions. A request for a network page is obtained from a client. The network page is associated with a network site hosted on behalf of a first party by a second party. A portion of the network page is obtained from a service operated by the party in response to the request. The network page, which includes the portion, is generated in response to the request. The generated network page is sent to the client in response to the request.
Abstract:
Techniques for transmitting data to an entity may be provided. In particular, a location of a data file (e.g., image, text, multimedia file, document, blog entry, identifying user information) can be provided to a location of a transitive file storage device for the entity to retrieve, instead of providing the data file directly to the entity. The entity can then provide the data file to users (e.g., via a hosted network page) and/or provide the data file to a service provider along with code to enable the service provider to provide the data file to users.
