    摘要: A process for enhancing oral hygiene by reducing oral microflora and for inhibiting the formation of dental plaque by applying, to the oral cavity a composition containing (a)0.1 to 40 parts, by weight, of a higher acyl-N-betaine having the structure ##STR1## where R is a higher alkyl group of from 10 to 18 carbon atoms, or mixtures thereof, and (b) 0.1 to 40 parts, by weight of a higher alkyl-N,-N-dimethylamine oxide, a higher alkyl-N-N-dihydroxyethylamine oxide, or an acyl-amino t-amine, of the respective structures: ##STR2##

    摘要: A process for enhancing oral hygiene by reducing oral microflora and for inhibiting the formation of dental plaque in a subject by applying to the oral cavity a composition containing 0.1 to 40 parts, by weight, of a higher alkyl-N-sulfobetaine having the structure ##STR1## where R is a higher alkyl group of from 10 to 18 carbon atoms and b) 0.1 to 40 parts, by weight, of a higher alkyl-N,N-dimethylamine oxide, a higher alkyl-N,N-dihydroxylethylamine oxide, or an acylamide t-amine oxide having the respective structures: ##STR2## wherein R is a higher alkyl of from 10 to 18 carbon atoms, or mixtures of said amine oxides.

    摘要: A process for enhancing oral hygiene by reducing oral microflora and for inhibiting the formation of dental plaque by applying, to the oral cavity, a composition containing(a) 0.1 to 40 parts, by weight, of a higher alkyl-N-betaine, having the structure ##STR1## wherein N is a higher alkyl group of from 10-18 carbon atoms, and (b) 0.1 to 40 parts, by weight, of a higher alkyl-N, N-dimethylamine, having the structure ##STR2## wherein R is a higher alkyl group of from 10 to 18 carbon atoms, and (c) acid in an amount sufficient to adjust the pH of the composition from 4.5 to 7.5 when measured in an aqueous solution of components (a) and (b) in a orally acceptable carrier.
