    摘要: The present invention concerns a security thread or stripe for the incorporation into or onto a value-document or currency substrate, as well as a method and means of making such thread or stripe. The thread or stripe comprises a plastic foil which carries a hardened coating comprising oriented magnetic or magnetizable pigment particles, the orientation of said pigment particles representing graphic information. Preferred are optically variable magnetic or magnetizable pigment particles. Said hardened coating may also be comprised between a first and a second plastic foil. Said graphic information is a repetitive seamless pattern of suitable repetition length, which is produced using a magnetic orienting cylinder having a corresponding repetitive seamless magnetic field pattern. A magnetic orienting cylinder and a process for process for producing such magnetic orienting cylinder are also disclosed. The process comprises the coating of a cylindrical support body with a polymer material comprising a high-coercivity permanent-magnetic powder as a filler material, and magnetizing or engraving the seamless outer cylinder surface to form on the cylinder a repetitive seamless magnetic field pattern.

    摘要: Monocarboxylic anhydrides of the general formula (RCO).sub.2 O are made by reacting a carboxylic acid ester or dialkylether of the general formulae RCOOR and ROR, respectively, in which R stands for one and the same alkyl radical having from 1-4 carbon atoms, with carbon monoxide in gas phase, in the presence of iodine or bromine or their compounds as a reaction promoter and also in the presence of a carrier-supported catalyst containing noble metal compounds of group VIII of the Periodic System, at temperatures of 130.degree.-400.degree. C. and under pressures of 1-150 bars. To this end, a novel carrier-supported catalyst is used in which the carrier material has a noble metal/chelate-compound formed of the noble metal compound and a chelator containing organonitrogen, organophosphorus, organoarsenic or organosulfur groups applied to it.

    摘要: The device comprises an intramedullar nail adapted to be driven into a hollow bone. The proximal terminal nail segment comprises an internal thread and a transversely penetrating longitudinal slot adapted to receive a screw to penetrate through the nail and to be screw-connected with the bone. The distal terminal nail segment comprises two transversely throughgoing holes each adapted to receive a screw to be screw-connected with the bone. An adjusting means comprises a bolt as adjusting member provided with an external thread screwed directly into the internal thread of the nail, or screwed into the internal thread of an insert in turn screwed into the internal thread of the nail, the bolt being adapted to be brought into direct or indirect engagement with the screw transversely penetrating through the longitudinal slot. By turning the bolt the screw may be pressed toward the distal end of the nail and displaced toward the same. The adjusting means or member may be inserted into the nail in rapid and simple manner after the nail has been driven into the hollow bone, and may be brought into a position, in which it engages the screw that transversely penetrates through the longitudinal slot. The entire adjusting means is adapted to remain inside the nail, until such time as the nail is removed from the hollow bone.

    摘要: A targeting device for making holes in cortical bone for bone nails has a right angle drill which interconnects to a telescopic guide member. The guide member attaches to the drill at the side thereof opposite the chuck. The free end of the telescopic guide attaches to an X-ray machine and maintains the drill in position during the drilling operation. A manual targeting device is used to locate bores in the bone nail and to spot drill the bone. The aligned telescopic guide is then used to complete the drilling operation.
