    摘要: A hydraulic tensioner includes a cylinder having a hollow space filled with hydraulic oil. A plunger is slidably mounted in the cylinder. A pushrod is mounted in the hollow space so as to be axially movable together with the plunger with one end thereof protruding from the cylinder. A spring is mounted in the cylinder to bias the plunger and pushrod outwardly of the cylinder. The plunger is formed with a passage through which a pressure chamber and reservoir chamber communicate with each other. The passage is formed with a valve seat. A check ball is arranged so as to be moved into and out of contact with the valve seat. The check ball is adapted to contact the valve seat when pressure in the pressure chamber exceeds pressure in the reservoir chamber, thereby closing the passage. The valve seat is formed of a steel for carburizing and has a surface carbon concentration of 0.55–0.75% to reduce deposition of carbides and to have a surface hardness at least equal to that of the check ball.

    摘要: A vehicle wheel bearing apparatus has an outer member and inner member. The inner member includes a wheel hub and inner ring. The outer member and inner member include respective raceway surfaces. Double row rolling elements are freely rollably contained between the outer and inner raceway surfaces, respectively, of the outer member and the inner member. At least the inner side rolling elements of the double row rolling elements are tapered rollers. A pitch circle diameter of the inner side rolling elements is set smaller than a pitch circle diameter of the outer side rolling elements. A substantially conical recess is formed at an outer side end portion of the wheel hub. The depth of the recess extends near to a shaft shaped portion beyond the bottom of the inner raceway surface of the wheel hub. The thickness of a portion of the wheel hub where the inner raceway surface is formed is set within a predetermined range. The outer side wall of the wheel hub is formed to have a substantially constant thickness along the inner surface of the recess.

    摘要: A vehicle wheel bearing apparatus has a double row angular ball bearing including double rows of ball groups. A pitch circle diameter of the double row ball group of the outer side is larger than a pitch circle diameter of the double row ball group of the inner side. The outer member is made of medium carbon steel including carbon of 0.40˜0.80% by weight. It is hardened by high frequency induction quenching so that each of the outer raceway surfaces is formed with a hardened layer having a surface hardness of 58˜64 HRC. The effective depth of hardened layer is set at at least 2 mm. The minimum wall thickness of the outer member at these outer raceway surfaces is set at at least 4 mm.

    摘要: To provide a tapered roller bearing assembly for supporting a vehicle wheel, in which stress concentration in the vicinity of a collar adjacent a hub flange is lessened to improve the durability, the assembly includes an outer member (1) having a plurality of tapered rolling faces (1a), an inner member (2) having a corresponding number of tapered rolling faces (2a), a corresponding number of rows of tapered rollers (4). The inner member (2) includes a hub axle (3) with a hub flange (10) adjacent an outboard end, and a single row inner race (5) mounted externally on an inboard end of the hub axle (3). The rolling faces (2a) are formed on the hub axle (3) and the single row inner race (5). A collar ring (6) in contact with the large ends of the tapered rollers (4) of the outboard row is provided as a flange ring (6) separate from the hub axle (3) and fitted on the hub axle (3) at a position adjacent the hub flange (10).

    摘要: A vehicle wheel bearing apparatus has an outer member (10) formed with double row outer raceway surfaces (10a, 10a) on its inner circumferential surface. An inner member (1) includes a wheel hub (2) with an integrally formed wheel mounting flange (4) at one end and a cylindrical portion (2b) axially extending from the wheel mounting flange (4). An inner ring (3) is press fit onto the cylindrical portion (2b). The inner ring includes one of the double row inner raceway surfaces (2a, 3a) formed on its outer circumferential surface. The double row inner raceway surface (2a) is arranged opposite to one of the double row outer raceway surfaces (10a, 10a). Double row rolling elements (6, 6) are freely rollably retained and held by cages (7, 7) between the double row outer raceway surfaces (10a, 10a) of the outer member (10) and the double row inner raceway surfaces (2a, 3a) of the inner member (1). An end face at the outboard side of the inner ring (3) is adapted to abut a stepped portion (11) formed on the wheel hub (2). The inner ring (3) is secured on the wheel hub (2) by being sandwiched between a caulked portion (2c) and the stepped portion (11). The caulked portion (2c) is formed by radially outwardly plastically deforming an end at the inboard side of the cylindrical portion (2b) of the wheel hub (2). A ratio (a) of the thickness (e), of an end (3c) at the outboard side of the inner ring (3) to abut the stepped portion (11), relative to the inner diameter (d) of the inner ring (3) is limited at or smaller than a predetermined value.
