Abstract: This application provides a signal transmission method and apparatus. The method includes: obtaining, by a transmitter side, a first signal with N points; performing signal separation on the first signal with N points, to obtain two groups of signals (for example, a second signal with N points and a third signal with N points); determining four signals with N/2 points based on the two groups of signals obtained through separation, and combining the four signals with N/2 points, to obtain a to-be-sent signal with 3N/2 points; and sending the signal with 3N/2 points to a receiver side, to enable the receiver to restore the first signal with N points from the received signal with 3N/2 points.

Abstract: A radio over fiber (RoF) system and a nonlinear compensation method, where the RoF system includes a BBU and an RRU, the RRU includes an electrical component, and the BBU includes a downlink and a feedback link. A predistortion module and an optical component are disposed on the downlink, an input end of the feedback link is connected to an output end of the optical component, and the feedback link is configured to feed back, to the predistortion module, a nonlinear signal output by the optical component. The RoF system further includes a temperature detection module configured to detect a temperature value of the electrical component, and transmit the temperature value to the predistortion module. The predistortion module is configured to perform digital predistortion DPD on a baseband signal based on the temperature value and the nonlinear signal.

Abstract: An aspect of the disclosure provides for a method for user equipment (UE) internet protocol (IP) address management. The method includes sending by an application function (AF), a request to a policy control function (PCF), the request including information identifying traffic and an indication that a UE IP address associated with the traffic should be preserved. The method further includes sending by the PCF, to a session management function (SMF) being responsible for managing a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session associated with the traffic, a policy and charging control (PCC) rule including the indication. In some embodiments, the request is sent by the AF to the PCF via a network exposure function (NEF). In some embodiments, the method further includes managing, by the SMF, the UE IP address according to the PCC rule. In some embodiments, the managing includes preserving the UE IP address for a PDU session associated with the traffic. In some embodiments, the preserving includes preventing reselection of a protocol data unit (PDU) session anchor (PSA) to which the UE IP address is associated.

The method includes: receiving an application program interface based request for UP path selection from the 3rd party entity; performing a validation and authorization procedure with the request; transmitting a UP path selection configuration request to a Control Plane Function that maintains configuration data; obtaining a reference number confirming the UP path selection configuration request; and installing the UP path selection according to the reference number.

In an embodiment, a method for software defined topology (SDT) management interworking with network function virtualization (NFV) and software defined networking (SDN) includes receiving, at an SDT Manager, from a service customer, a service request comprising a virtual service function forwarding graph (VSF FG); selecting a virtual network function (VNF) forwarding graph (FG) template in accordance with the received service request; generating a virtual function (VF) FG in accordance with the service request and the selected VNF FG template; selecting a point of presence (PoPs) for a VF in the VF FG; and transmitting, to an NFV Manager, instructions to instantiate the VF in accordance with at least one of the generated VF FG and the determined PoP.

Abstract: A method and system for machine type communication (MTC) service management using network function virtualization (NFV) is disclosed. Abstract: System and method embodiments are provided for traffic engineering (TE) in software defined networking (SDN). The embodiments enable a complete end-to-end TE solution between a user equipment (UE) and a source/destination across a radio access network (RAN). In an embodiment, a method in a network component for TE in a SDN includes receiving TE information from a first core network component in a core network, a RAN component, wherein the RAN is communicably coupled to the core network, wherein the TE information includes a TE objective; and determining a TE decision between at least one UE and a second core network component in the core network according to the TE information and the TE objective, wherein the TE decision comprises information for at least one end-to-end path solution between the at least one UE and the second core network wherein the path traverses the core network and the RAN.
