Abstract:
Systems, methodologies, media, and other embodiments associated with acquiring instruction addresses associated with performance monitoring events are described. One exemplary system embodiment includes logic for recording instruction and state data associated with events countable by performance monitoring logic associated with a pipelined processor. The exemplary system embodiment may also include logic for traversing the instruction and state data on a cycle count basis. The exemplary system may also include logic for traversing the instruction and state data on a retirement count basis.
Abstract:
A smart camera system provides focused images to an operator at a host computer by processing digital images at the imaging location prior to sending them to the host computer. The smart camera has a resident digital signal processor for preprocessing digital images prior to transmitting the images to the host. The preprocessing includes image feature extraction and filtering, convolution and deconvolution methods, correction of parallax and perspective image error and image compression. Compression of the digital images in the smart camera at the imaging location permits the transmission of very high resolution color or high resolution grayscale images at real-time frame rates such as 30 frames per second over a high speed serial bus to a host computer or to any other node on the network, including any remote address on the Internet.
Abstract:
A turbine engine cleaning system includes a source of cleaning fluid, a source of rinse fluid, a pump configured to deliver the cleaning fluid and rinse fluid under pressure, and a wash harness. The wash harness is connected in flow communication with a plurality of turbine engines. The wash harness is configured to direct cleaning fluid from the source of cleaning fluid and rinse fluid from the source of rinse fluid from the pump to the turbine engines in sequence.
Abstract:
A system for safely recharging and charging electrically powered vehicles, including hybrid powered vehicles, includes an electrical charging station for connecting the vehicles to a source of Ground Fault Protected electrical power, an authorization device for permitting an operator of the vehicle to utilize a secure electronic content distributor (SCED) such as a credit card, a debit card, a hotel/motel electronic key card, employee or student identification card, electronic membership card, retail credit card, a smart card, etc. to authorize payment for the amount of electrical power utilized to recharge or charge the vehicle. The system also includes a metering system for recording the amount of electrical power or electricity utilized to charge or recharge the vehicle. The metering system includes tracking and recording of the cost of the electrical power which is used to recharge or charge the vehicle. This system further is capable of producing a receipt which can be presented to an individual associated with the vehicle. This system is further capable of tracking these business transactions, recording them, accounting for them and transmitting the information to a Host Billing Center. This system is preferably located at parking facilities located at transportation centers, public and private municipal parking facilities, parking facilities located at hotels, motels, casinos, entertainment complexes, parking facilities at hospital, educational, and corporate campuses, and parking facilities located at shopping. The business transaction/costs for recharging or charging the vehicle may be completed as the service is completed or they may be transmitted to a centralized accounting system for incorporation in a master bill.

Abstract:
A method and device for recording call failure information in a data transmission system is provided. The failure logs generated in response to a failure event include a failure type and a first timestamp. A log record is created for a first failure log based on the failure type, and storied in a log record storage. Whenever a further failure log is generated in response to the same failure event, the further failure log includes said failure type and a current timestamp, so that it will receive the same identifier. The log record is updated to document the current timestamp.
Abstract:
The toggle mechanism of a circuit breaker is connected at one end to the pivoted contact arm and at the other end to a pivoted latch lever which is engaged to latch the toggle mechanism by a latch member pivoted for movement in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the toggle mechanism. The latch member serves as an armature for a trip motor energized by a trip circuit responsive to an arc fault and/or a ground fault to unlatch the toggle mechanism and trip the circuit breaker open. The latch member is also tripped by a helical bimetal responsive to persistent overcurrents and coupled to the latch member through an ambient compensator bimetal cantilevered from the latch member. A flexible shunt connected between the helical bimetal and contact arm passes through an extension of the magnetic circuit of the trip motor to generate a magnetic field of sufficient strength to trip the latch member instantaneously in response to a short circuit.
Abstract:
A microtome comprises a histological cassette support member that is adapted and configured to allow the microtome to be used in connection with relatively thin histological cassettes. A method of reversibly altering a microtome for use with different size histological specimen cassettes comprises exchanging the cassette support member of the cassette holding assembly of the microtome with another cassette support member without altering other portions of the cassette holding assembly. A method is also disclosed that includes providing a microtome comprising a first histological tissue cassette clamp, providing a second histological tissue cassette clamp, securing the second histological tissue cassette clamp to the microtome via the first histological tissue cassette clamp, and securing a histological tissue cassette to the microtome via the second histological tissue cassette clamp when the second histological tissue cassette clamp is secured to the microtome via the first histological tissue cassette clamp.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system and method for runtime updating of hints in program instructions. The invention also provides for programs of instructions that include hint performance data. Also, the invention provides an instruction cache that modifies hints and writes them back. As runtime hint updates are stored in instructions, the impact of the updates is not limited by the limited memory capacity local to a processor. Also, there is no conflict between hardware and software hints, as they can share a common encoding in the program instructions.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a system for use in the preparation in situ of tissue specimens for histological examination. The system includes a cassette, a specimen mounting card and a base mold. The invention also is directed to a method of processing a tissue sample for histological examination which does not require re-orienting the selected cutting plane in the specimen transfer step. Instead, the tissue sample remains oriented in a desired position throughout processing.
