    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a housing, and a cover member. The image forming portion is configured to form an image. The housing supports the image forming portion and has conductivity. The cover member includes a handle having conductivity and is opened when maintenance of the image forming portion is carried out. In the image forming apparatus, when the cover member is in a closed state, the handle is separated from the housing by a distance larger than a predetermined particular distance, and during a process of the cover member being opened and transitioning from the closed state to an open state, the handle contacts or comes close to the housing so as to be separated from it by a distance equal to or smaller than the particular distance.

    Abstract: An information processing apparatus according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes a communication control portion, an error code storage portion, an acquiring portion, and a determination portion. Communication control portion communicates with storage device based on interface communication standard, to perform data transfer therewith. Error code storage portion stores one or a plurality of selected error codes selected from a plurality of error codes defined by interface communication standard. Acquiring portion acquires error information outputted from storage device. Determination portion determines whether or not error code indicated by error information coincides with selected error code. When determination portion determines that error code coincides with selected error code, communication control portion communicates again with storage device to perform data transfer therewith. When determination portion determines that error code does not coincide with selected error code, communication control portion executes error processing corresponding to error code indicated by error information.

    Abstract: A signal generation portion of an image forming apparatus generates a different level of signal according to an output value of a pyroelectric sensor. A recognition portion determines a measurement value on the speed of change of the signal and recognizes which of a first range and a second range the measurement value is.     Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, a first detection portion includes a pyroelectric sensor and detects the upper half of the human body. A first signal generation portion generates a first signal whose level varies according to the output value of the pyroelectric sensor. A second detection portion includes a pyroelectric sensor and detects a lower area than the first detection portion. A second signal generation portion generates a second signal whose level varies according to the output value of the pyroelectric sensor. A storage portion stores discrimination data including data defining, with respect to the waveforms of the first and second signals, a condition for recognizing a human moving toward the image forming apparatus and a condition for recognizing a human crossing a detection area of the pyroelectric sensors.     Abstract: Provided is a storage apparatus that detects abnormalities of a hard disk caused by the instantaneous power failure of a low voltage power supply. An effective value reduction detecting circuit transmits a detection signal, when the voltage of a low voltage power supply is lower than specific voltage. CPU memorizes time t1 to a flash memory. Also, CPU memorizes time t2, when recovering low voltage power supply 13 on proper voltage. Then, CPU computes period of time T, which is time between time t1 and t2. If the computed period of time T is within a range from first period of time T1 to the second period of time T2, CPU operates a voltage switch and re-supply the power supply to the hard disk. If not within the range, CPU does not re-supply power to the hard disk.
