    摘要: Branched polyolefin copolymers containing olefinic bonds preferably not associated with end groups, especially elastomers, may be made by reacting ethylene and a nonconjugated diene in the presence of a selected iron catalyst which can oligomerize ethylene, and transition metal containing copolymerization catalyst which can copolymerize ethylene, α-olefins and nonconjugated dienes. The resulting polyolefins are useful, for example, as curable elastomers or semicrystalline polymers.

    摘要: Certain Group 8-10 transition metal complexes of bidentate ligands can be supported on hydroxyl containing supports which have been treated with certain organometallic compounds. These olefin polymerization catalyst precursors can be activated for olefin polymerization by contacting them with specific types of compounds to form olefin polymerization catalysts. Olefins which may be polymerized include ethylene and certain polar comonomers. The polyolefins produced are useful, for example, as films for packaging and as molding resins.

    摘要: Polyolefins, preferably polyethylene, having a density of about 0.86 to about 0.93 g/mL, having three or more or branches of the formula (CH2CH2)mH wherein m is an integer of one or more, provided that said branched polyolefin has one both of the following properties: said branched polyolefin contains less than 2 methyl groups per 1000 methyl-ene atoms and at least 30 total branches per 1000 methylene groups; said branched polyolefin contains less than 0.3 branches of the formula —(CH2)5H per 1000 methylene groups; and in said branched polyolefin the level hexyl+ branches is at least 80% of the level of ethyl branches, and said polyolefin contains less than 2 methyl branches per 1000 methylene groups or less than 0.3 branches of the formula —(CH2)4CH3 per 1000 me-thylene groups or both, thereby allowing good seals to be formed rapidly. This is advantageous when heat sealing these polyolefins, for example in the form of single or multilayer films.

    摘要: Aromatic polyesters are made in a continuous process in an extruder or extruder-like apparatus by reacting at elevated temperatures dicarboxylic acids, aliphatic esters of aromatic diols, and optionally aliphatic esters of aromatic hydroxyacids in an extruder while removing byproduct aliphatic carboxylic acid. The resulting aromatic polyesters, especially thermotropic liquid crystalline aromatic polyesters, are useful as molding resins for a variety of uses, for example electronic and electrical parts.

    摘要: Ovenware for microwave ovens which contain a composition comprising a susceptor which has a Curie point temperature of about 100° C. to about 300° C. and a thermoplastic or thermoset polymer are improved and said composition is in contact with the food or drink to be heated or cooked, and/or composition has a thermal conductivity of about 0.7 W/m° K. or more. Heat generated by absorption of microwave radiation by the susceptor is more readily conducted to the food being cooked when the thermal conductivity of the composition is high, particularly when the part containing the susceptor is relatively thick. The relatively low Curie point of the susceptor prevent overheating of the ovenware and food being cooked. Also described are designs for various pieces of ovenware containing this composition.
