An apparatus and method for utilizing a portable point-of-sale device for onboarding a merchant with an interchange network is provided. The method includes the operation of coupling the portable point-of-sale device to an external display device. The method also includes the operation of downloading a merchant companion application to a merchant client device. The merchant companion application is configured to communicate directly with the portable point-of-sale device. Furthermore, the method includes the operation of configuring a network connection between the portable point-of-sale device and the interchange network utilizing the merchant companion application. Moreover, the method includes the operation of providing merchant onboarding information to the interchange network via the portable point-of-sale device utilizing the merchant companion application.
Abstract:
A method and system are described that provide responses to natural language queries regarding the performance of a business. The method and system processes data from multiple data sources including information generated by the business and analyzes the data to provide actionable suggestions as to how to determine how to improve the performance of the business. The use of natural language queries allows for a merchant without a business intelligence background obtain these insights easily.
Abstract:
A host system pushing hosted Universal Resource Locators (URLs) to mobile computing devices is provided. The host system includes at least one host computing device configured to receive first merchant data and first Internet of Technology (IOT) data associated with a merchant computing device, enroll the merchant computing device using the first merchant data and the first IOT data, and build an IOT device profile. The host computing device is also configured to generate a hosted URL associated with the merchant computing device and push the hosted URL, using a URL signal, to a user computing device via an IOT device. The host computing device is further configured to instruct the user computing device to convert the URL signal into a URL address and instruct the user computing device to load the URL address in a browser of the user computing device.

The method includes obtaining rules that define a desired configuration of the embedded payment interface. The method also includes storing rules, storing a default interface template having a default configuration, and receiving an access message indicating that the webpage is accessed at a remote computing device, the access message including a plurality of data elements associated with the webpage and the access of the webpage by the remote computing device. The method also includes accessing the default interface template, generating customization commands that define an output configuration of the embedded payment interface by applying the rules to data elements, applying the customization commands to the default interface template to produce a payment interface having the output configuration corresponding to the desired configuration, and embedding the payment interface in the accessed webpage.

Systems and methods for use in permitting merchant to manage fraud prevention rules are disclosed. One exemplary method includes causing at least one settings interface to be displayed to a merchant via a sales platform. The method also includes receiving, by a computing device, via the at least one settings interface, a merchant-specific selection of a prescribed action relating to transactions, at the merchant and receiving, by the computing device, a merchant-specific selection of a fraud prevention rule associated with the prescribed action. The fraud prevention rule defines merchant-specific criteria relating to the transactions. In addition, the method includes appending, by the computing device, the fraud prevention rule to a data structure, in association with the merchant, whereby the prescribed action is effected when a transaction to the merchant violates the criteria defined by the fraud prevention rule.

Systems and methods are provided for use in creating, distributing, and displaying messages. One exemplary method includes receiving, by a computing device, a message request associated with an event and extracting, by the computing device, payment information and message information from the request. The method also includes causing the payment information to be processed. The method further includes creating, by the computing device, a message feed related to the event, when such a message feed does not exist, and adding the message information to the message feed when the message feed exists. Finally, the method includes causing, by the computing device, in response to a message feed request, the message feed to be delivered, whereby the message feed is displayed at an event merchant associated with the event.

Systems and methods are provided for processing transactions to payment accounts. One exemplary method includes receiving a transaction request from a merchant relating to a transaction between a consumer and the merchant, transmitting a verification message to the merchant including a verification code, and receiving a verified transaction request from the merchant. At least one of the transaction request and the verified transaction request includes a telephone number associated with the consumer and an amount of the transaction. The method also includes transmitting a confirmation request to the consumer including a confirmation code, when the verified transaction request includes said verification code. The method further includes receiving a confirmation response from the consumer and transmitting an authorization request for the transaction, when the confirmation response includes said confirmation code.
