    Abstract: Portable electronic device (105) and method (400) of controlling a secondary feature. In one example, the portable electronic device (105) includes a transceiver (230), a touch-screen display (225) displaying a push-to-talk button (305), and an electronic processor (205). The electronic processor (205) is configured to start transmitting a push-to-talk communication when the push-to-talk button (305) is selected. The electronic processor (205) is also configured to display a secondary feature button (320) on the touch-screen display (225) while the push-to-talk button (305) remains selected. The electronic processor (205) is further configured to detect a swipe motion (325) on the touch-screen display (225) from the push-to-talk button 305 to the secondary feature button (320). The electronic processor (205) is also configured to initiate a secondary feature, in response to the swipe motion (325) being detected, while continuing to transmit the push-to-talk communication.

    Abstract: A method for controlling a communications system. In one exemplary embodiment, at least one user attribute for a user associated with a first communication device is determined. A plurality of received audio stream snippets are analyzed based on the at least one user attribute. At least one audio stream snippet characteristic is determined for each received audio stream snippet of the plurality of received audio stream snippets based on the at least one user attribute of the user associated with the first communication device. If an audio stream snippet of the plurality of received audio stream snippets is relevant to the user associated with the first communication device based on the determined at least one audio stream snippet characteristic and the at least one user attribute, then data corresponding to at least one audio stream snippet of the plurality of received audio stream snippets is transmitted to the first communication device when the at least one audio stream snippet is determined to be relevant to the user associated with the first communication device.

    Abstract: An electronic communication device and method for crowd-based application synchronization. The device includes a display, a memory storing a first application, a transceiver, and an electronic processor. The electronic processor is configured to associate the electronic communication device with a first talk group, determine a first function in which the first application is configured to perform, and receive, via the transceiver, information regarding a number of members of the first talk group that are using an instance of a second application to perform the first function. The electronic processor is further configured to automatically present, based on the information, on the display, a running instance of the second application or a selection mechanism for the second application.

    Abstract: A system and method for cloning data using a wearable electronic device. The wearable electronic device includes a transceiver, a sensor, and an electronic processor electrically coupled to the transceiver and the sensor. The electronic processor is configured to establish, via the transceiver, a communications link with an electronic communications device. The electronic transceiver is further configured to transmit, via the transceiver to the electronic communications device, a device authentication key. The electronic processor is further configured to receive, from the sensor, at least one gesture signal. The electronic processor is further configure to, when the at least one gesture signal is received within a pre-determined period, determine at least one gesture from the at least one gesture signal. The electronic processor is further configured to determine a data cloning function based on the at least one gesture.
