摘要: A bar-code reader for reading bar codes on articles or commodities in supermarkets or retail stores has a scanning unit mounted on a vertically movable support post assembly and including a scanning system which emits a scanning light beam and detects light reflected from a bar code. The bar-code reader includes various indicating members, such as an indicator rod, an indicator ring, an arrow mark, a pattern mark, and a colored sheet, for indicating to the operator a direction, a position, and an area or zone in which to pass an article with a bar code in order for the bar code to be successully read by the scanning system.

摘要: A cell culture substrate which is durable and which can be readily produced in commercial scale at a low cost, and its production method are provided. The cell culture substrate comprises a substrate and a layer formed by surface modification, which comprises a polymer containing amino group produced by reacting a polymer represented by the following formula (II): (wherein n is 0 or a positive integer, and m is a positive integer, the n and m representing degree of polymerization) formed by chemical vapor deposition of formyl[2.2]paracyclophane represented by the following formula (I): (wherein k is 0 or 1) with a polymer having at least one amino group (—NH2) capable of forming Schiff base in its monomer. The production method of the cell culture substrate comprises the step of synthesizing such polymer on the substrate.

摘要: e and n are public information and d is private information. An electronic signature is generated based on a calculated value of e×d mod n. A signature generation apparatus 100 includes a random number generation unit 103, a first calculation unit 111, a second calculation unit 112, and a signature generation unit 121. The random number generation unit 103 generates a random number r. The first calculation unit 111 calculates s1=r×n. The second calculation unit 112 calculates s2=s1+e. The signature generation unit 121 calculates s3=s2×d mod n and outputs s3 as the calculated value of e×d mod n. The signature generation apparatus 100 can thereby generate the above electronic signature securely against differential power attacks.

摘要: An object of the present invention is to provide a cooler for cooling both sides (top and bottom surfaces) of a semiconductor device, wherein the variation of pressing force on flat cooling tubes holding a semiconductor device is reduced, thereby uniformly dissipating the heat generated by the semiconductor device. When the holding plates press the flat cooling tubes and semiconductor modules by tightening the nut, the dimensional tolerances in the stacking direction are absorbed by the deformable portions in the inlet and outlet headers. A spacer may be employed inside the flat cooling tubes in order to suppress the deformation of the flat cooling tubes along the stacking direction.

摘要: A generally cylindrically shaped annular catalytic converter is provided within the manifold of an exhaust gas system with branch pipes extending from the manifold to introduce exhaust gases thereinto. Each of the branch pipes defines a flow direction extending tangentially of the catalytic converter with the central axis of each branch pipe being directed at an oblique angle relative to the central axis of the catalytic converter and spaced from each other axially relative to the converter central axis.
