摘要: An AC-DC conversion device that includes a major circuit portion and a control circuit is provided. The major circuit portion includes a converter in which multiple switch portions in a bridge connection include separately-excited switching elements and snubber circuits connected in parallel with the switching elements; and the major circuit portion is connected to an alternating current power supply and a direct current circuit and applies, to the direct current circuit, an alternating current voltage applied from the alternating current power supply by an ON of the multiple switch portions. The control circuit controls the voltage applied to the direct current circuit by controlling the ON timing of the multiple switch portions by inputting a control pulse to each of the multiple switch portions.

摘要: A current driver is disclosed which allows very short pulses at high currents to be generated for high power laser diodes. The parasitic inductance of the laser diode limits the speed at which the laser diode may be turned on and off. A high voltage is used to charge this inductance rapidly and maximize the rise time. The fall time is shortened by allowing a similar high voltage to be generated at turnoff without damage to the laser diode or switching components. A portion of the energy stored in the parasitic inductance may recovered to reduce drain on the power source, and to improve overall efficiency. The anode of the laser may be switched to ground at the end of a pulse.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a power converter configured for limiting switching overvoltage. The power converter comprises a bottom commutation cell that includes a bottom power electronic switch and a bottom compensation circuit connected to a bottom parasitic inductance. The bottom compensation circuit applies a sample of the voltage induced across the bottom parasitic inductance at turn-off of the bottom power electronic switch to the reference node of the bottom gate driver. The power converter also comprises a top commutation cell that includes top power electronic switch and a top compensation circuit connected to the bottom parasitic inductance. The top compensation circuit applies a sample of the voltage induced across the bottom parasitic emitter upon turn-off of the top power electronic switch to the reference node of the top gate driver. The top and bottom commutation cells are part of a loop, being connected at a junction of the collector of the bottom power electronic switch and the emitter of the top power electronic switch.

摘要: A power converter has: switching elements connected in parallel to each of primary-side filter capacitors, freewheel diodes connected in parallel to the switching elements, and snubber resistances connected in parallel to the switching elements. The controller causes stoppage of the power converter by turning off each of the switching elements. After stoppage of the power converter, the controller causes a discharge circuit to operate by turning on a thyristor, thereby discharging the primary-side filter capacitors. By discharging of the primary-side filter capacitors, a secondary-side filter capacitor is discharged via the freewheel diodes.

摘要: Various methods and devices that involve snubber circuits for switching power converters are disclosed. An example power converter has a snubbing circuit. The snubber circuit comprises a bypass capacitor connecting an input node of the power converter to a ground node of the power converter, a decoupling capacitor that connects the input node of the power converter to a snubber node, and a snubbing resistor that connects the snubber node to the ground node. The snubbing resistor connects the decoupling capacitor to the ground node of the power converter. The snubbing resistor is greater than 1 ohm. The decoupling capacitor is greater than 5 nanofarads and less than 0.5 microfarads. The bypass capacitor is greater than 1 microfarads.

摘要: A power converter and a control method therefor are provided. The power converter includes a transformer, synchronous rectifier and a control circuit. A primary side of the transformer receives an input voltage, and a secondary side of the transformer generates a sensing signal. The synchronous rectifier is coupled to the secondary side of the transformer. The control circuit receives the sensing signal and detects a changing slope of the sensing signal, and accordingly generates a control signal to control the synchronous rectifier to be turned on or turned off, so as to regulate an output voltage of the power converter.
