    摘要: The invention provides a process for improving the fire resistance of a thermoplastic or thermoset organic polymer composition, characterised in that an alkoxysilane containing at least one organic nitrogen-containing group and an alkoxysilane or silicone resin containing at least one group selected from phosphonate and phosphinate groups are added to a thermoplastic or thermosetting organic polymer composition and heated in the presence of moisture to cause hydrolysis and siloxane condensation of the alkoxysilane or alkoxysilanes. The alkoxysilanes, or alkoxysilane(s) and silicone resin, of the invention are particularly effective in increasing the fire resistance of polycarbonates and blends of polycarbonate with other resins such as polycarbonate/ABS blends.

A coating agent composition that characteristically comprises (A) an acrylic copolymer obtained by the radical copolymerization of (A1) 1 mole silane compound represented by the general formula: CH2═C(R1)—COO-Q-SiR2n(OR3)3-n, (A2) 3.70 to 6.20 moles of at least one compound that contains a vinyl polymerizable unsaturated bond, and (A3) 1.05 to 1.80 moles of a siloxysilane compound represented by general formula (2): CH2═C(R1)—COO-Q-Si(OSiR43)3 at an molar ratio (A1)/{(A1)+(A2)+(A3)}=0.11 to 0.17; and (B) a condensation reaction catalyst.

    摘要: Disclosed is a highly reproducible method for the molecular weight fractionation of polyhydrogen silsesquioxane that gives a very storage-stable polyhydrogen silsesquioxane having a freely selectable molecular weight. The method involves dissolving polyhydrogen silsesquioxane in active-hydrogen-free nonpolar solvent; adding an active-hydrogen-free polar solvent to the resulting solution in order to precipitate polyhydrogen silsesquioxane; and collecting the desired molecular weight fraction of polyhydrogen silsesquioxane.

    摘要: A coating agent composition of the present invention consists of: (A) an acrylic-type copolymer that has a weight-average molecular weight within the range of 3,000 to 100,000 and contains in its side molecular chains hydrolysable silyl groups of the following formula: —COO-Q-SiR2n(OR3)3-n and organosiloxysilyl groups of the following formula: —COO-Q-Si(OSiR43)3; and (B) a condensation-reaction accelerating catalyst. Prior to curing, the composition demonstrates excellent storage stability and coating properties, while after curing the composition produces a coating film of high hardness that has excellent water-repellent properties and durability.
