Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus including at least one processor and at least one memory including a computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to: obtain information concerning signal quality, obtain information on location of a cell in relation to a multimedia service area, wherein the information concerning signal quality is created, and control utilizing the information concerning signal quality in a network based on the information on the location of a the cell in relation to the multimedia service area.
Abstract:
There is provided a method including generating, by a network element, at least one transmission gap within data transmission performed by the network element, transmitting a control message to at least one terminal device, wherein the control message includes a first request to perform, by the at least one terminal device, a first interference measurement during the at least one transmission gap, and wherein the control message further includes a second request to perform, by the at least one terminal device, a second interference measurement during the said data transmission, receiving, from the at least one terminal device, an interference report including information that is at least partly based on the first and the second interference measurements, and providing communication resources on the basis of the received interference report.
Abstract:
A technique, including estimating at a communication device a quality of service available to said communication device via a radio access network; making a comparison of the estimated quality of service against a quality of service currently achieved via an access point operating outside of the radio access network; and deciding whether or not to transfer from said access point to said radio access network at least partly with reference to the result of said comparison.
Abstract:
A method configures a communication between a base station, a first user equipment adapted to operate with a first system bandwidth and a second user equipment adapted to operate with a second system bandwidth. The first system bandwidth is broader than the second system bandwidth. The base station, the first user equipment and the second user equipment are located within a cellular network system. The method includes providing first common channels or signals within the first system bandwidth and providing second common channels or signals within the second system bandwidth, wherein a part of the first common channels or signals and a part of the second common channels or signals are superpositioned. The method further includes configuring at least one of the common channels or signals of the part of the first common channels or signals to be used by the first user equipment and the second user equipment.
Abstract:
It is provided a method, comprising monitoring if a cell is being started; selecting a temporary physical cell identifier among a predefined pool; instructing the cell to adopt the selected temporary physical cell identifier if the cell is being started; determining a permanent physical cell identifier for the cell, wherein the permanent physical cell identifier does not belong to the predefined pool and is different from each used physical cell identifier, wherein the used physical cell identifiers are indicated in measurement reports; checking if a first time has elapsed after the cell has been instructed to adopt the selected temporary physical cell identifier or a second time has elapsed after the cell has been started; replacing the selected temporary physical cell identifier by the determined permanent physical cell identifier if the first time or the second time has elapsed.
Abstract:
A user apparatus having a primary cell on a licensed band is requested to scan an unlicensed band, the scanning being performed with a raster. The thus obtained availability of the unlicensed band is used for determining a secondary cell. To improve the reparation of the traffic between the primary cell and the secondary cell, timing information measurements are carried out which can be exploited to avoid interferences between the primary and the secondary cell.
