In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a first indication of a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) configuration threshold that is associated with a selection between a polarization MIMO configuration and a spatial MIMO configuration, the MIMO configuration threshold being based at least in part on a performance threshold. The UE may receive a second indication of a MIMO communication configuration that specifies the selection. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication and testing. In some aspects, a device may receive information identifying a mount orientation of a wireless communication device, wherein the mount orientation indicates an orientation of a coordinate system of the wireless communication device relative to a coordinate system of a positioner. The device may capture measurement information at each position of a set of positions of the wireless communication device, wherein the set of positions comprises positions of the wireless communication device as the wireless communication device is rotated around an axis by the positioner, and wherein the measurement information is captured based at least in part on the mount orientation. The device may provide information identifying the measurement information. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein may use the measurement information to generate a codebook for beam generation. Numerous other aspects are provided.

The antenna module further includes a conductive wall separating a first portion of the mold from a second portion of the mold. The conductive wall is electrically coupled to the ground plane. A conformal shield may be placed on a surface of the second portion of the mold. The conformal shield is electrically coupled to the ground plane.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to dynamic antenna array reconfiguration and signaling in millimeter wave bands. A user equipment (UE) may detect an antenna array change condition. The UE may transmit a request for beam training for an antenna array configuration in response to the detecting. The request for beam training may include a requested antenna array configuration for the UE and an indication of beam weights to use with the requested antenna array configuration. A base station may determine whether to grant or deny the requested antenna array configuration for the UE. The UE may receive, from the base station, an indication of an antenna array configuration for the UE. The base station may transmit the number of reference signals as a set of contiguous channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS). The UE may train the reconfigured active antenna array configuration based on the reference signals.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, a first indication of one or more antenna element selection parameters including one or more antenna element performance thresholds for antenna element selection by the UE. The UE may select one or more antenna elements based on the one or more antenna elements satisfying the one or more antenna element performance thresholds. The UE may transmit, to the network entity, a second indication of one or more transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states that correspond to the usage of the one or more antenna elements selected by the UE. The UE and the network entity may communicate in accordance with the one or more TCI states included in the second indication.
