    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for preparing a sequenced copolymer comprising a first block (A) connected to a second block (B), said method comprising the following steps of monitored radical polymerisation: (E1) bringing into contact, typically in an aqueous medium: unsaturated ethylene monomers mA, selected in order to constitute the block (A); a source of free radicals; and an agent for monitoring the radical polymerisation; and then (E2) bringing into contact: the polymer obtained from step (E1); unsaturated ethylene monomers mB; a source of free radicals; and a polymer P0 which is not ethylenically unsaturated and supports labile hydrogens.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to the formation of a gel within a medium M, in particular within an underground formation, which comprises the following steps: (EI) a basic compound C is added to a fluid latex L comprising dispersed particles of a polymer P, bearing ester side functions, said basic compound C being added in an amount suitable for hydrolysing at least one part of said ester side functions into carboxylic acid and/or alcohol functions, as a result of which a modified latex L′ is obtained, the viscosity of which gradually increases with time from the addition of the compound C up to the formation of a gel; then (E2) the resulting modified latex is introduced into the medium M before the formation of the gel and the gel is left to form within the medium M.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to the preparation of block copolymers, which can be used in particular as rheology agents, suitable, inter alia, for oil extraction, comprising a step of radical micellar polymerization wherein the following are brought into contact in an aqueous medium: —hydrophilic monomers, dissolved or dispersed in the aqueous medium; —hydrophobic monomers in the form of a micellar solution, i.e. containing, in a dispersed state, micelles comprising these hydrophobic monomers; —at least one radical polymerization initiator; and —at least one radical polymerization control agent. The polymers obtained according to the invention can be used in particular for enhanced oil recovery (EOR).

    Abstract: The present invention relates to the preparation of polymers that are of use in particular as a rheology agent, and are suitable for use in very concentrated saline media, which comprises a step of micellar radical polymerization in which are brought into contact, in an aqueous medium: —hydrophilic monomers; —hydrophobic monomers in the form of a micellar solution, containing micelles comprising these hydrophobic monomers; —a radical polymerization initiator; and —preferably an agent for controlling radical polymerization, wherein said micelles comprise at least one surfactant of amphoteric nature. The polymers obtained according to the invention are in particular of use for enhanced oil recovery.
