Abstract: A display device includes a display panel and a backlight unit. The display panel is curved along a first direction. The backlight unit includes an upper surface, and a lower surface having a curvature different from a curvature of the upper surface. The backlight unit includes a bottom cover that includes a bottom portion, and a sidewall extending from the bottom portion, a plurality of light emitting diodes on the bottom portion and generating light, and a diffusion plate on the light emitting diodes. In the first direction from a center portion of the bottom portion to an outer portion of the bottom portion, pitches between the light emitting diodes along a surface of the bottom portion, are proportional to distances between the light emitting diodes and the diffusion plate in a direction substantially normal to positions of the bottom portion at which the light emitting diodes are disposed.
