摘要: An image forming apparatus which forms a toner image, includes: an image carrier which carries the toner image thereon; a transfer section which interposes a transfer member at a transfer nip between the image carrier and the transfer section thereby to transfer the toner image on the image carrier onto the transfer member; a voltage applying member provided downstream of the transfer nip in a moving direction of the transfer member; a power source section which applies a voltage to the voltage applying member; and a control section which controls the voltage applied by the power source section. The control section controls the power source section to apply a prescribed voltage to the voltage applying member so that the prescribed voltage has the same polarity as that of a toner used in the apparatus and the voltage applying member does not carry out a self-discharge to the transfer member.

摘要: An electric control device 70 is applied to an internal combustion engine 10 capable of a pre-mixed charge compression ignition combustion in which air-fuel mixture gas including air and fuel injected from an injector 37 is formed in a combustion chamber 25, and the air-fuel mixture gas is self-ignited to be combusted by compressing the air-fuel mixture gas during a compression stroke. The electric control device injects high pressure fluid such as air from the air injection valve 38 into the air-fuel mixture gas at a predetermined acting timing within a compression stroke prior to fuel pyrolysis starting timing to enhance the temperature un-uniformity of the air-fuel mixture gas. This enables the temperature un-uniformity of the air-fuel mixture gas at the fuel pyrolysis starting timing to become larger than the temperature un-uniformity of the air-fuel mixture gas at the fuel pyrolysis starting timing obtained only by simply compressing the air-fuel mixture gas during the compression stroke. As a result, the combustion is moderated and the combustion noise is reduced.

摘要: Disclosed is a solution circulation type metal-halogen battery in which an electrolyte is circulated between a reaction tank and an electrolyte storage tank. This battery has a first group of rectifying plates and a second group of rectifying plates aligned in a row, respectively, so as to partition between the inlet of the electrolyte and the reaction tank and between the outlet thereof and the reaction tank, respectively. These first and second groups of rectifying plates are formed in such a manner that the interval between the respective rectifying plates increases in accordance with a predetermined functional equation in the direction of moving away from the inlet or outlet side of the electrolyte. This apparatus equalizes the flow rate and velocity of the electrolyte flowing through the reaction tank, thereby preventing the occurrence of an overvoltage or a faulty deposition of metal resulting from the non-uniform flow of the electrolyte.
