    摘要: A developer supply device is provided, which includes a casing including a developer storage section at a bottom portion therein and an opening formed at an end thereof away from the developer storage section, development agent chargeable with a predetermined polarity, stored in the developer storage section, and a transfer board that is disposed in the casing and configured to transfer the development agent stored in the developer storage section when a multi-phase alternating-current voltage is applied to transfer electrodes of the transfer board. The development agent includes a mother particle having, around an outer surface thereof, an electrically insulating layer without a polar group having a charge polarity identical to the predetermined polarity, and an external additive, absorbed to around the mother particle in an easily desorbable manner, which is an electrically insulating fine particle having a charge polarity identical to the predetermined polarity.

The developer retrieving member is driven to rotate around an axis parallel to the main scanning direction and configured to retrieve the development agent from the developer holding surface under a retrieving electric field that is generated when a retrieving voltage is applied between the developer retrieving member and the developer holding member.

    摘要: A polishing composition includes fumed alumina, alumina other than fumed alumina, colloidal silica, a first organic acid, a second organic acid, an oxidizing agent, and water. When the second organic acid is citric acid, the first organic acid is preferably malic acid, while when the second organic acid is malic acid, the first organic acid is preferably citric acid. When the second organic acid is succinic acid, iminodiacetic acid, itaconic acid, maleic acid, malonic acid, crotonic acid, gluconic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, or mandelic acid, the first organic acid is preferably either citric acid or malic acid. The polishing composition can be suitably used for polishing the surface of a substrate for a magnetic disk.

    摘要: An object of the present teachings is to provide a method for producing a negative charging toner having a fine surface charge state. For this object the present teachings provide a method for producing a negative charging toner comprising a polyester resin as a main component is provided. The method comprises steps of producing base particles by emulsifying the polyester resin; causing a positively charged compound to be carried on the surfaces of the base particles and producing toner base particles by bringing the base particles carrying the positively charged compound into contact with negative charge control resin microparticles such that the negative charge control resin microparticles are fixed to the surfaces of the base particles.
