摘要: A rocking actuator and a laser machining apparatus which can suppress a temperature rise of a permanent magnet in a moving-magnet actuator. Even when a steerable mirror is positioned by rapid and continuous motions, highly reliable machining can be performed without degrading machining throughput or hole position accuracy. A cooling jacket for cooling a casing and heat transfer units brought into contact with a coil and the casing are provided. Heat generated in the coil is introduced to the casing through the heat transfer bypass units. Thus, the temperature rise of the coil is suppressed. Radial grooves are provided in the permanent magnet opposed to the coil so as to prevent an eddy current from appearing therein. Groove depth is made not smaller than skin depth expressed by a function of volume resistivity and permeability of the permanent magnet and a fundamental frequency of a current applied to the coil.

摘要: A maleic anhydride copolymer comprising maleic anhydride units (I), conjugated diene units (II) and aliphatic monoolefin units (III) is provided. This copolymer has a weight-average molecular weight of from 500 to 50000. The molar ratio of unit (I)/(unit (II)+unit (III)) ranges from 30/70 to 90/10 and the molar ratio of unit (II)/unit (III) ranges from 5/95 to 90/10. A hydrolyzed product of the copolymer or a water-soluble maleic acid copolymer is also provided. The hydrolyzed product is advantageously used for scale inhibitors, dispersants for calcium carbonate or admixtures for cement and conctrete.

The number of windings of each of the coils (321) to (325) is equal to the number of windings of each of the coils (352) to (357).

摘要: A catalyst comprising a Y zeolite of which silica/alumina molar ratio ranges from 15 to 110, use of this catalyst for alkylation of monoisopropylnaphthalene and a method for preparation of this catalyst comprising treating a Y zeolite with an acid(s) to adjust the silica/alumina molar ratio to 15 to 110 are disclosed. A method for preparation of mono and/or diisopropylnaphthalenes comprising reacting naphthalene and/or monoisopropylnaphthalene with propylene in the presence of at least one saturated polycarbocyclic compounds and a catalyst comprising a Y zeolite having the silica/alumina molar ratio of from 10 to 350 are disclosed. This catalyst makes possible the production of .beta.-monoisopropylnaphthalene in good yield by alkylation of naphthalene and the production of .beta.-monoisopropylnaphthalene and/or 2,6- and 2,7-diisopropylnaphthalenes in good yield by alkylation of naphthalene and/or monoisopropylnaphthalene in good percent conversion.

摘要: An endless transmission belt for use in continuously variable transmissions of the chain type with a number of link plates interconnected in an endless manner. The belt has blocks spaced along the length of the belt, pins spaced along the length of the belt and engaging the blocks, and link plates arranged in sets and pins, each of the link plates having a single opening formed therein. A plurality of sets of the link plates are interconnected by the pins in an endless manner. Each link plate has horizontal portions formed in such a manner as to continue with the side end faces, thereby defining the opening, via rounded portions for contacting the pins, and first and second notches are respectively formed in the upper and lower interior edges of the horizontal portions partially defining the opening. By virtue of this arrangement, stress received by the end faces of the rounded portions of each link plate is dispersed, thereby reducing the concentration of stress in any particular portions of the link plate.

摘要: An endless transmission belt of the invention includes a plurality of sets of link plates and a plurality of pin pairs, each pair of pins linking one end of one set of link plates to an adjacent end of another set of link plates. A plurality of blocks are mounted on the link plates and extend around the circumference of the belt. Each of the blocks has a pin engagement groove defined by a circumferential contact surface for engaging a pin in the running direction of the belt, an opening and a pair of side walls each extending from the circumferential contact surface to the opening. One of side walls provides a radial contact surface for a pin. Each of the pins has a transverse cross-section defined in part by (1) a rocking surface for contact with its paired pin, (2) a first curved surface for radial contact with a sidewall of the pin engagement groove and (3) a second curved surface for contacting the circumferential surface of a block and the link plates. The dimensions of the radial contact surface of the pin engagement groove and the dimensions of the surfaces of each pin are selected to minimize, where the belt passes over a pulley, the difference between (1) .DELTA.r which is the total of the displacement of the points of contact between paired pins as a result of the pins of a pair rolling with respect to each other, the displacement of the pins per se and the relative displacement between the pairs of pins and the blocks due to their rotation relative to one another and (2) .DELTA.r.sub.i which is the ideal .DELTA.r, from the viewpoint of variation in belt speed, vibration and noise.
