Abstract: Provided is a vehicle drive system that reduces oil agitation loss which occurs in a reduction gear during vehicle startup, and that sufficiently sends a cooling oil to a motor to improve the reliability of the motor. This vehicle drive system 100a is characterized by comprising: an electric motor 1; a reduction gear 2; a reduction gear casing 2b that houses the reduction gear 2; an oil 8 that is accommodated in the reduction gear casing 2b; an oil storage unit vertically over the electric motor 1; a pump 3 that sends the oil 8 stored in a lower portion of the reduction gear 2 to the oil storage unit 5; a pipe 9 that connects the oil storage unit 5 and the electric motor 1; a valve 6 that is provided to the pipe 9 to control conduction/interruption of the pipe 9; and a control device 20 that controls the electric motor 1, the reduction gear 2, the pump 3, and the valve 6. This vehicle drive system is also characterized in that the control device 20 uses the valve 6 to control the starting/stopping of supply of the oil 8 from the oil storage unit 5 to the electric motor 1.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and a method for controlling an internal combustion engine such that emissions may not worsen during recovery from a fuel cut. An internal combustion engine control apparatus executes feedback control on the air-fuel ratio of an internal combustion engine. The control apparatus increases a supply of fuel, with the air-fuel ratio feedback stopped, when combustion restarts after a fuel cut of the internal combustion engine. The control apparatus sets the air-fuel ratio criteria based on a rich-side peak value of the air-fuel ratio obtained after the fuel supply increase starts. The control apparatus starts the air-fuel ratio feedback when the air-fuel ratio falls within the set air-fuel ratio criteria after the fuel supply increase.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a structure capable of stably holding a bonded magnet into a magnet insertion part of a rotor core. A rotor of a rotating electrical machine includes a bonded magnet 112, an elastic member 113 having a bent part 113a, and a rotor core provided with a magnet storage part storing the bonded magnet 112 and the elastic member 113. The elastic member 113 is embedded in the bonded magnet 112 in a state where at least a part of the bent part 113a is exposed from the bonded magnet 112, and an exposed part 113c of the bent part 113a from the bonded magnet 112 comes into contact with an inner wall of the magnet storage part 114 and elastically deforms.

Abstract: A control device for a variable compression ratio mechanism for changing a compression ratio of an internal combustion engine by rotating a control shaft connected to an output shaft of an actuator, wherein with respect to a reference position, the control device determines the rotation angle of the control shaft by sequentially integrating the output values of an angle sensor that detects the rotation angle of the output shaft of the actuator in a range of 0° to 360° such that the rotation angle approaches a target angle. When the internal combustion engine is stopped, the control device rotates the control shaft to a high-compression-ratio side and a low-compression-ratio side, respectively, toward a stopper mechanism that defines the rotatable range and compares the determined rotation angle and a reference operation angle to diagnose whether a failure has occurred in the variable compression ratio mechanism.

Abstract: In some examples, a service computing device receives, from a vehicle computing device onboard a vehicle, a communication including sensor data obtained from at least one sensor onboard the vehicle. Based on the communication, the service computing device determines a transmission delay corresponding to a difference between a time when the vehicle sent the communication and a time when the communication was received. Based on the communication, the service computing device determines a trajectory of the vehicle on a travel route. Based on the sensor data, transmission delay, wind direction and magnitude, surrounding objects, and trajectory, the service computing device determines vehicle control information for the vehicle. The service computing device sends, to the vehicle, based at least on the vehicle control information, at least one instruction causing the vehicle to perform at least one control operation for traversing one or more locations associated with the trajectory of the vehicle.

The update management device determines whether the second arithmetic operation device is executing a redundant process while the vehicle is traveling, and when determining that the second arithmetic operation device is not executing the redundant process, the update management device restricts execution of the redundant process by the first arithmetic operation device and updates a program stored in the second arithmetic operation device.
