    摘要: A roller skate is equipped with three or four wheels arranged in one line on the carrier which is joined to the shoe. Each wheel is cushioned independently with a spring system including at least two compression springs. A front wheel can be provided with two springs the longitudinal axes of which are oriented in the extent between the horizontal and vertical directions with the bottom ends of the springs being placed in front of the top ends of the springs or under them. Other wheels may be equipped with four springs having the longitudinal axes of the spring oriented vertically. At least two wheels can be provided with a braking system including clips with brake pads on both sides. The roller skate may be used and maintained on a specially configured assembling stand.

Since the rider is positioned closer to the front wheel, it becomes easier for the rider to flip over the handlebars. Fortunately, the scooter reduces a moment arm that defines a deceleration moment to reduce the likelihood that the rider will flip over the front handlebars.

    摘要: A steerable wheeled sport conveyance is disclosed employing a unique diamond shaped footprint especially adapted for riding at relatively high speeds over various types of terrain. A first set of singular in-line steering wheels are rotatably mounted on the opposing ends of an elongated frame in a manner that also allows one or both of them to pivot on a vertical axis, and a second set of parallel wheels are mounted in an opposing manner across the longitudinal tilt axis of the conveyance. The opposing parallel wheels are attached to corresponding struts, which in turn are independently pivotably mounted near the longitudinal centerline of the frame, and are rotatable in a plane perpendicular to the rotationary plane of the two sets of wheels. Side to side tilting motions of the frame relative to the opposing struts creates vertical displacements between them, thus providing the steering forces that are conveyed and connected to the axles of one or both of the in-line steering wheels.

    摘要: A two-wheeled roller skate with canted wheels has an axle for the forward wheel located well forward of the ball of the foot. The axle for the rear wheel is located at the rear of the skater's heel. The wheels are canted so that the front and rear wheels contact the ground on the opposite sides of the center line of the skater's foot. In plan projection, the axles are preferably non-parallel in order to provide steering correction. The amount of steering correction desirable will depend on the skater's skill and the nature of the skating activity. In alternative embodiments, the present invention incorporates novel braking mechanisms.
