摘要: A system includes a reciprocating expander including: a piston disposed in a chamber; a crankshaft; a connector rod coupled between the piston and the crankshaft and configured to transfer torque to the crankshaft in response to movement of the piston in the chamber; and a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet on one side of the piston. The system also includes a first flowpath coupled between a wellbore and the reciprocating expander and configured to communicate gas from the wellbore into the fluid inlet of the reciprocating expander at a first pressure. The system further includes a second flowpath coupled between the reciprocating expander and downstream equipment and configured to communicate the gas from the reciprocating expander toward the downstream equipment at a second pressure, the second pressure being lower than the first pressure.

摘要: Method of conversion of heat into fluid power includes pumping of the working liquid into a hydropneumatic accumulator with gas compression, subsequent gas expansion with displacement of the working liquid from the other accumulator as well as supply of heat to the gas by transferring the gas through the hotter heat exchanger and removal of heat from the gas by transferring the gas through another, colder heat exchanger performed so that the average temperature of the gas during expansion is higher than that during compression, wherein the gas is transferred between different accumulators through said heat exchangers. The device for conversion of heat into fluid power includes at least two accumulators, the means for liquid supply and intake as well as the means for heating and cooling containing at least two flow-type gas heat exchangers installed with the possibility of gas transfer through them between gas reservoirs of different accumulators. The efficiency and rate of heat conversion into fluid power are increased. Reliability and high power density are ensured.

摘要: A heat exchanger and associated method are provided that may eliminate or reduce the need for an external mechanical or electrical power source to drive the fan by utilization, instead, of a Stirling engine. A heat exchanger includes a plurality of coils configured to carry a primary fluid. The heat exchanger also includes a fan including a plurality of fan blades configured to force a secondary fluid across the plurality of coils to facilitate heat transfer between the primary and secondary fluids. The heat exchanger also includes a Stirling engine operably connected to the fan and configured to cause rotation of the fan blades. A corresponding method is also provided.

摘要: A rotary vane engine system for using exhaust heat energy of a fuel-based heat engine. The heat engine includes a crankshaft being driven by a combustion cycle, and the heat engine generates exhaust gases by combustion. The system comprises an independent air system, wherein the independent air system contains air separate to the exhaust gases. A heat exchanger system is provided for transferring exhaust heat energy from the exhaust gases to the air contained in the independent air system to generate pressurized air. A rotary vane engine is also provided having a housing, a rotor contained within the housing and coupled to the crankshaft of the heat engine, and a plurality of vanes extending radially from the rotor. The pressurized air is expanded within the rotary vane engine for rotation of the rotor thereby providing drive to the crankshaft of the heat engine.
