    摘要: A wood board feeding system for positioning in a parallel orientation longitudinal pieces of lumber. It comprises a feeding conveyor assembly configured to receive and convey the longitudinal pieces of lumber over a conveying area in a conveying direction. The feeding conveyor assembly comprises a first conveyor sub-assembly and a second conveyor sub-assembly, both comprising a conveyor for conveying the longitudinal pieces of lumber about one of their ends and a motor driving the conveyor at a conveying speed. The first conveyor and the second conveyor are disposed side-by-side with respect to the conveying direction, thereby the first conveyor sub-assembly and the second conveyor sub-assembly position a respective one of the two opposite ends of the longitudinal pieces of lumber.

The rigid saw frame has a “C-shape,” is unbent, and contains openings that make up a truss-like structure, which distributes an external force that is focused on one portion of the saw frame across other portions of the saw frame.

The method may also include positioning the blade along a transverse axis. Further steps may include moving the cutting blade along a transverse axis simultaneous to moving the workpiece along its longitudinal axis, thereby creating a scarf cut; sorting a finished workpiece; and marking the workpiece.

    摘要: A mechanism for elevating and/or shifting a log infeed table to position a log received on the infeed table for a subsequent operation. The mechanism has sets of opposed paired crank arms pivotally mounted on supports. The infeed table is mounted on supporting shafts extending between the crank arms with the supporting shaft offset from the pivot axis of the crank arms. The crank arms are pivoted by an actuator coupled to a beam extended between one pair of the crank arms. All of the sets of paired crank arms have their beams coupled together by flexible couplings such that all of the sets of crank arms will pivot in unison. As the crank arms are pivoted by the actuator, the infeed table is raised or lowered. The supporting shafts are slidably movable in the cranks arms. Separate actuators are provided to move the supporting shaft in the crank arms to shift the infeed table transverse to the flow path of the infeed table.

    摘要: In a through feed molder, each tool is mounted to a slide and provided with a dust hood that also carries two conventional hold-down guides, rigidly attached, one on each side of the hood. A mechanism operating between the hood and the slide permits matching of the clearance between the hood and the horizontal bed of the molder to a given tool reference diameter. The hood is also interconnected with the bed by a measuring device which verifies the clearance of the entire tool assembly according to the thickness of the work. Displays are used to indicate the tool reference diameter and the distance of the hood from the bed.

    摘要: A system for processing a log or cant including chippers, profiling heads, and saws arranged as a sequence of coupled operations. Scanners and computers determine the log configuration and projected configuration of lumber pieces to be derived. One scanning function is the determination of the wane area configuration in the region of the projected side board edges. This enables a determination of the side board edges including acceptacle wane area and the desired orientation (incline or decline) of the boards relative to the path of conveyance. The profiling heads are adjustable in response to computer calculations to edge the established side boards. Stabilizing is provided and includes guide anvils positioned at the board edges following the edging operation.
