摘要: An ultrasonic wave is output from a speaker of a head-worn device. A microphone signal is obtained from a microphone of the head-worn device that senses the ultrasonic wave as it reflects off an ear of a user. Heart activity such as a heart rate of the user is determined based at least on the microphone signal. Other aspects are also described and claimed.

摘要: An interferometric synthetic aperture acoustic imager is disclosed. Specifically, an acoustic imaging system includes an acoustic transmitter, an acoustic receiver array, a signal processing system, a navigation data system, and a meteorological data system. The acoustic transmitter and the acoustic receiver array are mounted on transceiver array. The navigation data system includes a Position and Orientation System for Land Vehicles system which receives data from two Global Positioning System antennas, an inertial measurement unit, and a wheel encoder mounted on a vehicle wheel. The system also includes meteorological data system that records temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure. The meteorological data may be used to adjust the received acoustic data based on atmospheric conditions.

摘要: The present teachings relate to an electronic device comprising: a first module for generating an audio signal; a second module for generating an ultrasonic signal; a mixer for generating a combined signal; a transmitter for outputting an acoustic signal dependent upon the combined signal; and, a processing means for controlling the ultrasonic signal; wherein, in response to receiving a first instruction signal for initiating the ultrasonic signal, the processing means is configured to increase the amount of the ultrasonic signal in the combined signal from an essentially zero value to a predetermined value over a predetermined enable time-period. The present teachings also relate to an electronic device configured to decrease the amount of the ultrasonic signal in the combined signal from an essentially zero value to a predetermined value over a predetermined disable time-period, and to an electronic device configured to remove the audio signal from the combined signal whilst preventing pop-noise, and to an electronic device capable of replacing the ultrasonic signal whilst minimizing the processing time. The present teachings further relate to a method for reducing the occurrence of pop noise in an acoustic signal associated with: initiating the ultrasonic signal in the combined signal, terminating the ultrasonic signal in the combined signal, terminating the audio signal in the combined signal, and replacing the ultrasonic signal in the combined signal. The present teachings also relate to a computer software product for implementing any of the method steps disclosed herein, and to a computer storage medium storing the computer software herein disclosed.

摘要: Both the linear attenuation coefficient and an index describing the heterogeneity of the scatterers of tissue can be obtained simultaneously by the method and system disclosed herein. The system also produces a B-scan image with optimal time-variable gain compensation. The system combines an envelope peak method with a conventional ultrasound pulse-echo scanner. In this method, the peaks of the echo envelopes in a B-scan are multiplied by a controllable gain function. By adjusting the parameter of the gain function, the noise-to-signal ratio (NSR) of the envelope peaks is minimized. The minimum NSR can be used as an index to describe the heterogeneity of the tissue scatterers and the parameter of the gain function corresponding to the minimum NSR is equal to the attenuation coefficient of the tissue.

摘要: The invention provides a sonar system having a moving window display of the sonified area in which a single broad beam projecting transducer is employed to sonify a desired area. A plurality of line focus receiving transducers are used to receive signals from adjacent strips of the sonified area, and the signals received from each transducer are amplified, detected and sampled. A sampling switch is employed to sequentially sample each detector channel RE times, where RE represents the number of range elements. The sampled signals are then stored in a magnetic storage device, preferably a magnetic disc. The signals from a single sonar pulse are stored in groups, equal in number to the number of receiving transducers, at nonadjacent locations on the disc track, and the signals corresponding to equal range elements from previous and subsequent pulses are stored at adjacent locations in the order received. The disc rotates 360* + OR phi during one picture interval to provide the moving picture display on a cathode ray tube electrically connected to a read head on the magnetic storage means.
