摘要: Methods, systems, and apparatus for winnowing. In one aspect, a method includes loading an initial material into a winnowing system via a feed member; feeding the material into a fluidically accelerated winnowing cavity, where the initial material impacts at least one plate member to yield chaff material and processed material, and where the processed material and the chaff material circulate in the winnowing cavity; and separating the chaff material and the processed from the winnowing cavity based on density. Other aspects include yielding intermediate material, where the intermediate material reimpacts the at least one plate member until yielding chaff material and processed material, preprocessing the initial material, controlling the flow of initial material into the winnowing cavity with a feed gate, where the chaff material egresses the winnowing cavity via a chaff chute, where the chaff material collects in a collection cavity, and/or more.

摘要: A sifter serves for separating coarse particles from a particle-carrying stream during the manufacture of wood material panels, in particular wood fiber panels. The sifter has a housing forming a chamber and having a material inlet for admitting the particle-carrying stream to the chamber, at least one air inlet below the material inlet for admitting an air stream to the chamber, an exhaust-air outlet for conveying air and fine particles from the chamber, and a coarse-particle outlet for conveying coarse particles out of the chamber. An upper front wall of the housing above the air inlet is oriented at least partially at an angle to the vertical. An upper edge of the air inlet is either vertically aligned above a lower edge of the air inlet or projects by an amount beyond the lower edge into the chamber.

摘要: A method of processing bagged refuse includes pneumatically conveying filled refuse bags along a conduit using an airflow and opening the bags during the pneumatic conveyance. An apparatus for carrying out the method includes a conduit configured to pass an airflow to pneumatically convey bagged refuse along the conduit and a bag opening structure arranged to open the refuse bags during pneumatic conveyance along the conduit. The open bagged refuse is sorted into fractions using the airflow by passing the refuse across an opening through which the airflow continues. A wall is arranged in the path of travel of the pneumatically conveyed refuse to disaggregate the refuse by impacting the refuse against the wall. The wall is arranged vertically and at least partially defines an opening through which the air stream continues such that a fraction of the refuse falling across the opening is conveyed through the opening.

摘要: The invention relates to a grader which employs an air separation principle. The grader includes a rotor rotatably supported in a housing. The rotor includes a pair of rotor disks on its outer boundaries extending radially substantially to the housing. A plurality of blades are disposed on the rotor between the rotor disks. A circumferential channel is formed by the rotor disks, the housing and the plurality of blades. The bladed rotor functions as a vertical sink in order to grade a solid which is fed into the circumferential channel via a tangential passage.

摘要: An arrangement for the dry reconditioning of used foundry sands in which used sand is fluidized with air or an air/gas mixture and flung against a precipitator to separate and remove substances covering sand particles. The precipitator has several planar baffle elements arranged in concentric circles around a conical deflector. A jet of used sand/air directed toward the deflector expands radially outwardly toward the baffle elements so that the jet is decelerated several times by the deflector and the baffle elements and, in a confined space, split into individual streams and swirled to provide heavy mechanical friction between sand particles and between sand particles and the baffle elements.

摘要: An apparatus for roasting coffee beans or the like includes a controlled spinning bed or fluid bed roaster in combination with a cyclone separator for removing chaff from the heating medium. The cyclone separator is disposed above and in coaxial and abutting relationship with the roaster. The separator has a generally cylindrical shape with a plate having a plurality of louvers in the base thereof. The louvers impart rotational movement as the heating medium passes therethrough so that the chaff can be removed therefrom. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a second centrifugal separator which is relatively small with respect to the first separator is disposed adjacent the first separator for making a final separation and returning the heated medium to the roaster.

摘要: The subject deduster employs gravity to feed the dust and impurity laden particulate material through a linear kinetic energy cell, which cell generates an electric field to neutralize the static electric charges causing the dust to adhere to the particulate material. With the static electric charge neutralized, the dust can be separated by an air flow substantially transverse to the particle flow. The cleaning can be accomplished by pressurized air or a vacuum. The deduster can include means to collect the dust after it has been separated for the particulate material.
