摘要: A temporary power delivery system includes a power source, a booth stringer, and a portable GFCI device. The GFCI device is receives current from the power source by a first terminal and delivers current to the booth stringer by a second terminal. An electronic processor of the GFCI device compares a combined magnitude of current flowing through first and second phase conductors of the GFCI device to a magnitude of current flowing through a neutral conductor of the GFCI. The electronic processor also compares a first voltage between the first phase conductor and neutral conductor to a second voltage between the second phase conductor and neutral conductor. A circuit breaker of the GFCI device is opened if a difference between the combined magnitude of phase conductor current and neutral conductor current exceeds a first threshold or a difference between the first voltage and second voltage exceeds a second threshold.

摘要: An electric circuit device and method is for recognizing a closed switch contact as well as a protective ground conductor interruption in a one- or multiphase electric supply line. A control of a residual current monitoring device (RCMB control) includes one fault current control unit for generating a control signal pattern including a series of switching-on impulses forwarded to a first electronic switch unit to activate a possible artificial passive fault current on one or more active conductors and the protective ground conductor (as a return conductor), this fault current actually flowing, being recognized, and evaluated in a closed circuit in a closed switch contact to be tested and an intact protective conductor. Owing to control signal patterns varying during monitoring, a reliable detection of the artificial passive fault current is ensured even in large dynamic disturbance levels while the electric installation (supply line) to be monitored is in operation.

摘要: A quick-action leakage detection protection circuit with a regular self-checking function is provided. The quick-action leakage detection protection circuit may include a power input end, a power load end, a power user end, twin induction coils for detecting leakage current and low resistance failure, a control chip, a trip coil in which an iron core is disposed, a reset button, a self-checking chip, and a self-checking silicon controlled rectifier. The reset button may be linked with a main circuit switch, an analog path switch, and a normally-open self-checking path switch. The main circuit switch may include a pair of dynamic contact levers extended from the power load end, a first pair of static contact ends extended from the power input end passing through the twin induction coils, and a second pair of static contact ends extended from the power user end. In some embodiments, a first end of the trip coil may be connected to a live line end of the power input end and to the live line of the power load end via the first normally-closed switch. And, a second end of the trip coil may be connected to a neutral line end of the power load end via a second normally-closed switch.

摘要: The system makes it possible to monitor various electrical variables by using a simple structure at low cost with ease and with high reliability by a circuit breaker which jointly includes a current transformer to detect current, a transformer to detect voltage, and a zero-phase current transformer to detect leakage current, in addition to the switch controller to perform the basic function of the circuit breaker. Moreover, the system also provides a function to display various measured values, obtained as described above, by a display unit that can be detached and installed separately from the measuring section to display data sent in digital form by data transmission.

摘要: A self-contained test feature for ground fault protection systems in circuit breakers. The ground fault protection system includes a sensing transformer having a primary winding that sums the currents through the phase current transformers. Upon the occurrence of an actual ground fault, the sensing transformer will transmit a signal to cause the breaker to trip. The test feature includes a test transformer having its secondary winding electrically connected in parallel with the primary winding of the sensing transformer. The current path between the test transformer secondary winding and sensing transformer primary winding is completed only upon the activation of a test switch. The primary winding of the test transformer is hooked to an external current source to provide the necessary current to simulate the ground fault.

摘要: Circuitry for detection of ground fault currents in alternating current circuits utilizable with grounded or ungrounded systems and for protectively interrupting the circuits, comprises means for deriving monitoring signals from representative of the fault currents and applying the signals to first and second relays. The first relay is responsive at a low level of fault current to pass control current from a source of control power to warning such as a lamp and horn. The second relay is responsive at a higher level of fault current to pass control current to an interrupter device for the circuits being monitored. Adjustment means in the circuitry sets the two threshold levels of fault current at which the relays respectively respond. Seal-in circuit means keep the first relay actuated to activate the alarms continuously after their operation is initiated. A time delay network prevents relay response to instantaneous transient currents exceeding the lower threshold. The circuitry is unitized for use at any standard voltage, current and frequency and to isolate all current carrying components. The circuits being monitored can serve as a source of control power or an independent source can be provided.

摘要: A ground fault detecting system including a current monitor, a ground fault sensor and a circuit breaker. The ground fault sensor responds to the presence of ground fault current to actuate a circuit breaker to open the circuit in which the ground fault current is flowing. The ground fault sensor includes circuit elements which perform corresponding circuit functions such as time delay and reset. The ground fault sensor is adapted to provide an adjustable or variable time delay so that the circuit breaker to be tripped may be delayed in tripping through a wide range of time periods after the initial sensing of the ground fault current.
