摘要: Systems and methods for medical monitoring devices are provided. Various embodiments include a monitoring device platform. The platform may adhere to a smartphone and house one or more medical monitoring devices to accommodate for one or more health conditions. The medical monitoring devices may be interchangeable and the types of medical monitoring devices on the platform is customizable. The platform may include Bluetooth® functionality and is compatible with smart phones or other smart devices. Medical information collected by the platform is transmitted to the smart phone for viewing by the user. The medical information may be processed by a machine learning engine and can be used to highlight relevant information within an action plan created by a medical professional. Individual medical devices can slide and lock into the platform and may be used while the phone is in use.

摘要: A compact diode laser achieves high-power, short duration output pulses by separating the lasing action from the pulse-generating mechanism. A diode seed source is configured for gain-switching via a variable RF source. A time lens element includes an intensity modulation device, a phase modulation device, and a pulse compressor. The intensity modulation device carves shorter pulses from the long gain-switched seed pulses, the phase modulation device adds chirp, and the pulse compressor compensates for the chirp while producing high-power short-duration output pulses.

摘要: In some embodiments, the invention provides a method for identifying a patient suffering from or suspected of suffering in from a disease associated with the cardiovascular system that is having a subnormal response to the treatment for the disease comprising: subjecting a blood sample from a patient being treated for a disease to a viscoelastic analysis in the presence of a known amount of a thrombolytic agent, to obtain a coagulation characteristic value of the patient; and comparing the coagulation characteristic value of the patient to a coagulation characteristic value of a healthy individual, wherein a difference in the coagulation characteristic value of the patient as compared to the coagulation characteristic value of the healthy individual identifies the patient as a patient having a subnormal response to treatment.

摘要: The invention provides methods and systems by which enzymes can be modified to improve solubility, catalytic activity, recoverability, and recyclability. The enzyme may be modified with a thermosensitive copolymer to form an enzyme-polymer conjugate that exhibits upper critical solution temperature (UCST) and/or lower critical solution temperature (LCST)-type behavior in an organic solvent, ionic liquid, or other solvent. Methods and systems of the invention facilitate the use of enzymes as biocatalysts in solvents.

摘要: This invention relates to the field of ribonucleic acid (RNA) regulation of intracellular activity. In particular, the invention relates to compositions and methods of identifying and tracking specific intracellular RNAs. For example, a fluorescently tagged RNA probe may be tracked by in vivo live imaging throughout its intracellular lifetime in order to determine its purpose and identify regulatory targets to modify its effects. Alternatively, an RNA probe may carry a therapeutic payload for treatment of medical condition or disorder.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for complex imaging reflectometry and refractometry using at least partially coherent light. Quantitative images yield spatially-dependent, local material information about a sample of interest. These images may provide material properties such as chemical composition, the thickness of chemical layers, dopant concentrations, mixing between layers of a sample, reactions at interfaces, etc. An incident beam of VUV wavelength or shorter is scattered off of a sample and imaged at various angles, wavelengths, and/or polarizations. The power of beam is also measured. This data is used to obtain images of a sample's absolute, spatially varying, complex reflectance or transmittance, which is then used to determine spatially-resolved, depth-dependent sample material properties.

摘要: The present invention contemplates devices and methods to administer nutritional compositions and/or therapeutic drugs directly into a portal venous system. For example, total parenteral nutrition therapy may be administered directly into the hepatic portal venous system thus circumventing known side effects of conventional parenteral administration. Alternatively, hepatic diseases and disorders may be treated using locally administered therapeutic drugs. Devices capable of direct portal venous system administration include, but are not limited to, a direct portal access catheter or a transjugular access catheter.

摘要: A probe beam is passed through a first optically pumped magnetometer vapor cell portion that has a first magnetic bias field orientation relative to a pump beam. The probe beam is also passed through a second optically pumped magnetometer vapor cell portion that has a second magnetic bias field orientation relative to the pump beam with the same properties as in the first portion, where the first magnetic bias field orientation is opposite to that of the second magnetic bias field orientation. This configuration reduces or eliminates linearly polarized magnetic signals (e.g., noise) from the output probe beam and passes circularly polarized magnetic signals. Thus, the intensity of the probe beam after passing through the first and second optically pumped magnetometer vapor cell portions is measured to obtain a noise suppressed signal.

摘要: A system and methods for the delivery of oxygen through a body cavity of a subject using oxygen microbubbles. Through circulation of oxygen microbubbles through the body cavity, oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange may occur. Overall improvement in extending survival rate time during emergency situations caused by pulmonary or similar oxygen-intake restricting injury and/or failure may be achieved through use of the invented system and methods.
