Abstract:
According to one embodiment, an integrated multi-stage end-to-end cytotoxin handling system includes a first stage for receiving a cytotoxin drug and for preparation of a dose of the cytotoxin drug; a second stage in selective communication with the first stage for further processing the prepared dose; and a third stage in selective communication with the second stage for further processing of the prepared dose. The third stage includes an automated apparatus for sealing the prepared dose in an enclosure. During the entire time from reception into the first stage for drug preparation thereof and to produce a cytotoxin dose to being scaled in the enclosure, the cytotoxin drug remains in a controlled, sealed environment.

Abstract:
An automated medication preparation system for preparing a prescribed dosage of medication in a drug delivery device. The system includes a plurality of stations for receiving, handling and processing the drug delivery device so that the prescribed dosage of medication is delivered to the drug delivery device and a transporting device that receives and holds more than one drug delivery device and moves the drug delivery devices in a controlled manner from one station to another station. The system is configured so that two or more separate drug delivery devices can be acted upon at the same time.

Abstract:
A wireless digital personal communications system (or PCS) having a plurality of intelligent base stations and portable handset terminals, each having a predetermined radio cell coverage area. The radio cell, radio-telephone PCS has a full ISDN interface. The personal communications system facilitates direct interconnection and switching of PCS call traffic through the ISDN interface and the public switched telephone network, or any switched network. The personal communications system has voice/data/image (or any combination thereof), and incoming and outgoing calling capability. The PCS is fully operational and compatible with any modulation approach selected The intercell protocol hand-off being provided through distributed logic which is implemented in software that is resident in the intelligent portable handset terminals, in the intelligent base stations, and in the public switched telephone network (or any switched network). Alternative embodiments of the present invention include a wireless digital personal communications system having authentication means for authenticating a remote device; a wireless digital personal communications system having a combination of authentication means for authenticating a remote device and security means for securing signal and message content between an intelligent base station and a remote device, the security means including a predetermined encryption and decryption technique; a wireless digital personal communications system having dynamic zone grouping of portable handset terminals; and a wireless digital personal communications system having call forwarding for unanswered calls.
Abstract:
A carton is disclosed having a reclosable pour spout formed in a top panel thereof. The pour spout being formed by cooperating portions of an upper minor flap, an exterior top panel and an interior top panel which cooperate to form the top panel of the carton. A portion of the interior top panel forming a central closure pane is formed by inside and outside cut scores formed in the interior top panel defining a ply separation region therebetween which extends from a lift tab to a hinge line formed in the interior top panel. The exterior top panel includes a central closure pane defined by lines of perforation which extend from the lift tab to a hinge line formed in the exterior top panel which overlies the hinge line formed in the interior top panel, such that upon the application of an opening force to the lift tab, ply separation occurs in the ply separation region of the interior top panel which consequently forms a stop lip in the interior top panel and a stop tab on the central closure pane which when reclosed contacts the stop lip and prevents the central closure pane from being inserted into an interior of the carton.
Abstract:
A tear strip is formed in a paperboard container blank by scoring a line of weakness on each of the opposite surfaces. The lines are offset from each other to form between them an area where the piles are easily separated. One or both lines are formed by impressing the blank with a diamond pattern knurling tool.
Abstract:
A container is constructed from a paperboard sheet having a channel including a surface area of the paperboard sheet from which paperboard material has been removed and a tear strip at least partially bounded by the channel for opening the container by separation of the paperboard sheet along the channel.
