Abstract: A grass sports ground is produced by mixing man-made vitreous fibres into soil having relatively high loam levels at a rate in the range 0.5 to 50 parts by weight per 100 parts soil (dry weight), preferably in the presence of moisture to separate the fibres and distribute them among soil particles, and then growing grass. The soil/fibre mixture has desirable moisture management properties as well as good mechanical characteristics providing extended use characteristics even in cold, wet or hot and dry conditions.

Abstract: A system and method for producing an aerogel composite material includes a reaction vessel having a movable carrier basket for receiving a plurality of fiber mats, and a plurality of plates to space the fiber mats apart from one another. Once the plates have been removed, there are gaps between the aerogel insulating boards, through which hot drying air can be blown during a drying process. The method has the advantage that the quantities of solvents and reagents to be disposed of are minimal, and in addition thereto, no complex work-up processes are necessary.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a method and an apparatus for rejection of defective mineral fibre slabs in a continuous production process of mineral fibre slabs, said method comprising the steps of providing a continuous flow of rows of a predetermined number of mineral fibre slabs on a first conveyor with a first direction of travel; detecting each of the slabs in a row for defects; redirecting one or more defective slabs onto a second conveyor for further processing and transferring the remaining non-defective slabs in a row to a third conveyor, downstream of the first conveyor and having a third direction of travel; or if no defective slabs are detected in the row, the entire row is continued onto a fourth conveyor and onwards to a fifth conveyor both being downstream of the first conveyor and has the same direction of travel as the third conveyor; receiving the non-complete row of non-defective slabs from the third conveyor on a buffer table, and assembling a complete row from non-defective slabs received on said buffer table and transferring said assembled complete row onto the fifth conveyor.

Abstract: A method of producing a sandwich panel core of mineral wool fibers from a cured mineral fiber product includes the steps of providing a cured mineral fiber product with a dual density having a top layer with mineral fibers with a first density and a base layer having mineral fibers with a second density, the second density is at least two times lower than said first density. The top layer and the base layer have different fiber orientations. Further steps including cutting the mineral fiber product into a plurality of lamellae, rotating the lamellae 90 degrees, and re-joining the lamellae so that the top layers with the first density are vertically oriented.
