摘要: A digital system includes a clock line carrying a clock signal and a communication bus with a signal time of flight longer than a cycle of the clock signal. A master device is connected to the communication bus and the clock line. The master device selectively applies signals to the communication bus. A set of slave devices are connected to the communication bus and the clock line. Each slave device of the set of slave devices has an associated latency delay arising from its position on the communication bus. Each slave device includes delay circuitry to compensate for the associated latency delay such that the master device observes a uniform minimum latency for each slave device in response to applying signals to the communication bus.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for automatically scrubbing ECC errors in memory upon the detection of a correctable error in data read from memory. This is performed by providing in a memory controller memory control logic for controlling accesses to memory, an ECC error checking and correcting unit for checking data read from memory for errors and correcting any correctable errors found in the read data, a first data buffer for storing the corrected read data output from the ECC error checking and correcting unit and a writeback path having an input end coupled to an output of the first data buffer and an output end coupled to memory. Upon the detection of a correctable error in data read from a particular memory location, the ECC error checking and correcting unit signals to the memory control logic the existence of a correctable error in the read data. The memory control logic then obtains exclusive control over the first data buffer and the writeback path to control writing of the corrected read data onto the writeback path and subsequently to memory.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus in a memory controller coupled between a system bus and memory for independently supporting one of a Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) and an Asynchronous DRAM (ADRAM) memory type via common signal pins. According to the preferred embodiment, the memory controller comprises memory control logic for generating both SDRAM and ADRAM memory interface signals and multiplexing means for selecting as output onto common signal pins either set of interface signals depending upon a memory type setting programmed within a configuration register. The memory control logic comprises at least a request processor in addition to two memory state machines, one for SDRAM and the other for ADRAM memory operations. When a system bus request is received by the request processor, it is assigned to a request state machine which interacts with both the SDRAM state machine and the ADRAM state machine to generate two sets of memory interface signals in addition to two sets of internal control signals. The sets of signals are input to a multiplexor provided for each type of control signals (i.e., memory interface and internal control), which multiplexors are controlled by the memory type select signal output from the configuration register. Based on the memory type setting programmed into the configuration registers, the appropriate sets of memory interface and internal control signals (i.e., either SDRAM or ADRAM) are selected for output to the memory array and to other units of the memory controller, respectively.

摘要: A drug delivery catheter which may be inserted into a vessel, such as a blood vessel is disclosed. The drug delivery catheter comprises any elongated tubular member which has a proximal end and a distal end. A drug lumen which provides a communication path for fluid is provided in the elongated tubular member for delivering a fluid, such as the drug to be administered. An inflatable balloon assembly is provided at the distal end of the elongated tubular member. The balloon assembly includes apertures which communicate with the drug lumen. The balloon assembly comprises a tubular balloon which is helically wound through the elongated tubular member and a sheath. The sheath is attached to the helically wound tubular balloon such that when the balloon member is uninflated, the first fluid in the vessel flows around the balloon assembly and such that when the balloon member is inflated, sections of the helically wound balloon contact the vessel wall to form a containment pocket between the vessel wall, the contacting sections of the balloon and the sheath. The apertures are provided in the containment pocket. An inflatable lumen is defined through the interior of the helically wound balloon and the sheath to allow perfusion of the first fluid.

摘要: An inflation device includes a syringe forming a cylindrical chamber containing a plunger carrying a stopper or piston arrangement. The chamber is designed to contain an inflation fluid and is in fluid communication with the lumen of a balloon catheter. Movement of the plunger within the chamber will increase or decrease the pressure of the fluid within the chamber and lumen, thereby inflating or deflating the balloon at the distal end of the catheter. A pressure sensor is mounted to the housing in fluid communication with the lumen and is electrically connected to a battery-operated transmitter. The transmitter broadcasts signals representing pressure within the lumen and balloon to a remote receiver. The receiver includes a microprocessor containing a clock and operable to display time and pressure data. A flexible insulator strip is interposed between the battery and the transmitter circuit to prevent operation of the transmitter until desired by the cardiologist. The housing of the inflation device may be opened to remove the batteries for separate disposal and to render the circuit inoperative to prevent reuse. A look-up table associated with the microprocessor permits display of balloon diameter during the procedure.
