Abstract:
Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for creating sterile plants by genetically ablating microspore and megaspore mother cells. Also disclosed herein are methods of restoring fertility of sterile male and female plants.
Abstract:
Described herein are compounds, pharmaceutical compositions and methods for inhibiting the expression of a vitamin D receptor target gene, inhibiting interactions between the vitamin D receptor and at least one vitamin D receptor coactivator, for treating cancer in a subject, and for inhibiting angiogenesis in a subject.
Abstract:
A battery management system for monitoring battery cells of an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) coupled to a medical imaging load. The battery management system includes a first slave configured to obtain an operating parameter of a first battery cell. The first slave is configured to determine health of the first battery cell based at least in part on the operating parameter. The first slave is configured to generate a signal indicating the health of the first battery cell to communicate serially, via at least a second slave, to a master.
Abstract:
Provided herein are novel pyrazolo-quinolinone compounds and method of using such compounds to treat disorders such as neuropsychiatric disorders with sensorimotor gating deficits, such as schizophrenia, tic disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, Huntington's disease and nocturnal enuresis;depression; temporomandibular myofascial pain; disorders of trigeminal nerve, such as trigeminal neuralgia and trigeminal neuropathy; migraine; and tinnitus.
Abstract:
A clamping device for an umbilical cord includes a first member having a first clamping surface and a second member having a second clamping surface. The second member is flexibly coupled to the first member. The clamping device further includes an arcuate body extending away from the first member to assist an operator in moving the first member relative to the second member. The arcuate body is removably coupled to the first member.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The present invention discloses cysteine prodrugs having the general formula: cystine dimmers of the cysteine prodrugs having the general formula: protected cysteine analogs having the general formula: and dimmers of the protected cysteine analogs having the general formula: The invention further encompasses pharmaceutical compositions containing the disclosed prodrugs, dimmers, analogs, and methods of using such compounds for treatment of schizophrenia and drug addiction.
Abstract:
A camera assembly for use in a MRI machine. The camera assembly includes a Faraday cage defining a shielded cavity and an optical path mount constructed of a highly stiff, dense, and non-electrically-conductive material in the shielded cavity. The camera imager and lens are mounted to the optical path mount. The camera assembly includes a capacitor-based power regulation circuit. The optical path mount is not subject to eddy currents because it is non-electrically-conductive. The capacitor-based power regulation circuit includes very little ferrous material and is within the shielded cavity, to reduce eddy currents. The resulting camera assembly reduces vibrations and shaking in the magnetic field environment of the MRI machine.
Abstract:
A membrane for use in an air diffuser. The membrane includes a nub with a perforation. The nub and perforation and arranged and sized to create smaller bubbles of gas in a liquid column above the membrane.
Abstract:
Described herein are apparatuses for detecting an analyte in a liquid sample using optical time of flight spectroscopy. A handheld apparatus for remote real-time detection of Zn2+ in aqueous environments and methods for making and using the apparatus are also described herein.
