摘要： A system and method for discriminating tissue types, controlling the level of therapy to tissue, and determining the health or a known tissue by measuring the characteristics an electrical signal applied to conductive element located within or by the tissue. Additionally, the system and method may be used for determining whether the conductive tip of a pedicle probe or pedicle screw is located in one of cortical bone, cancellous bone, and cortical bone near a boundary with soft tissue, whether the conductive tip of a cannula is located adjacent to one of nerve tissue and annulus tissue, and whether the conductive tip of a cathode is located adjacent to one of nerve tissue and prostate gland tissue.

摘要： Prostheses and methods for repair of a cervical fact joint. The articulating surfaces of the natural facets of the facet joint are removed only a sufficient amount to allow the insertion of flat or slightly curvilinear portions of protheses therebetween in an overlapping relationship. The portions are so inserted and the prostheses mounted by attachment to adjacent vertebrae. Also, a single natural facet may be similarly repaired with a single prosthesis.

摘要： An apparatus and procedures for percutaneous placement of surgical implants and instruments such as, for example, screws, rods, wires and plates into various body parts using image guided surgery. An apparatus for use with a surgical navigation system, an attaching device rigidly connected to a body part, such as the spinous process of a vertebrae, with an identification superstructure rigidly but removably connected to the attaching device. This identification superstructure, for example, is a reference arc and fiducial array which accomplishes the function of identifying the location of the superstructure, and, therefore, the body part to which it is fixed, during imaging by CAT scan or MRI, and later during medical procedures.

摘要： A guide and method of using the guide for positioning within a patient between vertebral members for contouring each of the members. The guide comprises a first section and a second section. A first edge is positioned along an edge of the first section, and a second edge is positioned along an edge of the second section. One or more elongated rods extend through the sections. One or both of the sections are movable along the rods to adjust a spacing between the first edge and the second edge. When positioned within the patient, the first edge is aligned along a first vertebral member and the second edge is aligned along a second vertebral manner. A manner of locking the sections is included for preventing the sections from moving relative to each other once the first and second edges are aligned within the patient.

摘要： One embodiment of a hollow spinal spacer (10) includes a curved anterior wall (11) having opposite ends (12, 13), a posterior wall (15) having opposite ends (16, 17), two lateral walls (20, 21), each integrally connected between the opposite ends (12, 13, 16, 17) of the anterior (11) and posterior (15) walls to define a chamber (30). The walls (11, 15, 20, 21) include a superior face (35) and an inferior face (40). The superior face (35) defines a first opening (36) in communication with the chamber (30) and includes a first vertebral engaging surface (37). The inferior face (40) defines a second opening (41) in communication with the chamber (30) and includes a second vertebral engaging surface (42). In one embodiment, a lateral wing projects from an external surface of each of the lateral walls. In another embodiment, the anterior wall defines an anterior superior surface and an anterior inferior surface. The anterior superior surface has a concave shape defining a first radius which is configured to correspond to the anterior shape of an inferior vertebral endplate. The anterior inferior surface has a convex shape defining a second radius which is configured to correspond to the anterior shape of a superior vertebral endplate. In other embodiments, the lateral walls define a convex lateral superior surface and a convex lateral inferior surface. Each of the lateral surfaces define a radius configured to correspond to the shape of a vertebral endplate.

An embodiment comprises receiving, from a first server operated by a first trader, a communication including a first trade order and one or more selection criteria, the first trade order including at least one of a specified instrument, a specified quantity, and a specified price; determining that a database of trade orders does not contain a trade order matching the first trade order; identifying a plurality of traders satisfying the selection criteria; sending, to a plurality of second servers, a query including at least one of the specified instrument, the specified quantity, and the specified price; receiving, from a one of the plurality of second servers operated on behalf of a second trader, a positive response to the query; and facilitating execution of a trade between the first trader and the second trader for the specified instrument at the specified price.
