    摘要: A liquid discharge head cartridge can assuredly supply a liquid discharge head with a liquid even when a bubble is generated within a liquid channel, and maintain excellent recording characteristics even in a configuration in which light recovery or no recovery is adopted. The cartridge includes a slit-shaped opening provided at an ink channel facing an ink-jet recording head, a filter provided at an ink introducing unit so as to contact an ink absorber, and ribs for supporting the filter that extend from an inner wall of the ink introducing unit to a substantially central portion of the filter.

    摘要: The invention provides a liquid container containing an absorbent member for temporarily retaining, by a capillary force, liquid to be supplied to a recording head for discharging the liquid and mounted together with the recording head on a linearly reciprocating carriage and adapted for receiving liquid replenishment to the absorbent member when the carriage is moved to a predetermined position, wherein, to the surface of the absorbent member, there is applied a polymer provided with a second portion having a lyophilic radical for rendering the surface lyophilic and a first portion having a radical of an interfacial energy different from the interfacial energy of the lyophilic radical but is approximately equal to the surfacial energy of the surface, and the first portion is oriented toward the surface while the second portion is oriented in a direction different from the surface.

    摘要: An ink-jet recording apparatus, it is possible to assuredly execute replenishment of ink into an ink tank and control of a pressure within the ink tank during ink replenishment by a simple configuration, and reduce the size and the weight of the apparatus, and improve reliability of the apparatus. The ink-jet recording apparatus includes an ink tank for receiving ink from an ink intake, an ink supply unit for receiving ink from a replenishing tank into the ink tank by a negative pressure introduced from a suction port of the ink tank in the inside of the ink tank, and a negative-pressure controller for causing the negative pressure within the ink tank to remain in an ink supply channel from the replenishing tank to the inside of the ink tank, so that the negative pressure within the ink tank does not return to an atmospheric pressure while receiving ink.
