    摘要: Light emitted from a laser is divided into two light waves so that the ratio of the power of one light wave to the power of the other will be appropriate. The resultant light waves are irradiated to the same track on a medium. The preceding spot is used for erasure, and modulated so that the same pattern as the one formed with a recording pulse will be formed. The high-power component of the modulated light of the erasing spot causes the temperature of a recording layer to be equal to or higher than the melting point. The medium-power component of the modulated light forms a crystallizing temperature area on the recording layer. A liquid crystal diffraction grating is used to divide power, and a power division ratio is variable and controllable.

    摘要: Disclosed is an angular velocity sensor superior in shock-proofness and in assembling properties. The angular velocity sensor 1 includes support members 10A1, 10A2, 10B1 and 10B2, bonded to two nodal points of a pillar-shaped oscillator, generated on oscillations of the oscillator, in a manner of sandwiching the nodal points from upper and lower sides of the oscillator. The support members simultaneously serve for mechanically supporting and providing for electrical connection of the oscillator. Upper support members 10A1, 10A2 and lower support members 10B1 and 10B2 for the nodal points include bent parts halfway, the bent parts being bent in the same direction with respect to the longitudinal direction of the oscillator. The upper support members and lower support members also include arms 12 extending at right angles to the up-and-down direction and to the longitudinal direction of the oscillator and junction parts 13 for the arms and the oscillator.

    摘要: A recording medium in which information is to be recorded is permitted to get into a first state by a first power level of an energy beam and permitted to get into a second state by a second power level higher than the first power level of the energy beam. The information is recorded on the recording medium by moving the energy beam and the recording medium relatively to each other and irradiating the recording medium with the energy beam so that the first and second states are formed with predetermined lengths and at predetermined intervals on the recording medium. Four power levels (first, second, third and fourth power levels) are used as the power level of the energy beam. The information is recorded while the second power level is increased to x times and the first, third and fourth power levels are increased to y times. The information recorded as described above is reproduced, and reproductive jitter is observed. The magnification factors x and y are adjusted so that the value of the reproductive jitter is not larger than a predetermined value.

    摘要: An engine head cover structure has a head cover joined to the upper end of a cylinder head so as to define a valve operation chamber therebetween. The head cover includes therein an oil recovery chamber to which oil resided in the valve operation chamber is recovered by suction and a breather chamber that removes blowby gas from the valve operation chamber being provided in the head cover. The breather chamber is defined between a partition plate mounted on an inner wall of the head cover via clips and a surface of the roof of the head cover, and the oil recovery chamber is defined between the partition plate and a partition body welded thereto. It is thus possible to form the oil recovery chamber and the breather chamber without splitting the roof of the head cover, thereby making inspection of the joint for oil tightness unnecessary.
