    摘要: There is provided an information storage apparatus including recording medium and a head. The recording medium has an electrode layer, a magnetic layer that is stacked on the electrode layer, and a wear-resistant thin film that is stacked on the magnetic layer. The head has a conductive probe for injecting charge to record information and sensing the charge injected into the recording medium to reproduce information in a state that the conductive probe contacts the recording medium. A magnetic medium, which is coated with a wear-resistant thin film, stores charges to record information and reproduce information using an electrostatic force. Thus, it is possible to stably store highly integrated information. Also, a probe contacts a recording medium to record and reproduce information at a high speed. Thus, sensitivity and resolution can be improved.

In addition, the servo regions can be disposed among the data regions, and the data probes can be used as the servo probes.

The ferroelectric recording medium includes a substrate, a plurality of supporting layers which are formed on the substrate, each of the supporting layers having at least two lateral surfaces; and data recording layers formed on the lateral surfaces of the supporting layers. First and second data recording layers may be respectively disposed on two facing lateral surfaces of each of the supporting layers. The supporting layers may be polygonal pillars having at least three lateral surfaces. A plurality of the supporting layers can be disposed at uniform intervals in a two-dimensional array.

    摘要: Provided are a bit patterned medium having a super-track, a method of tracking a track of the bit patterned medium, a head appropriate for the bit patterned medium, and an information recording/reproducing apparatus including the bit patterned medium and the head. The bit patterned medium includes a substrate, and a recording layer comprised of a plurality of bit cells which are formed on the substrate by being separated from each other, along a plurality of tracks. Each of the plurality of tracks includes a super-track comprised of a plurality of sub-tracks. Bit cells formed on a sub-track from among the plurality of sub-tracks in the super-track are disposed so as to deviate from bit cells formed on another sub-track from among the plurality of sub-tracks in the super-track. A track ID (identification) for recognizing the super-track, and a servo burst generating a position error signal when a head tracks the super-track, are arranged in an area of each of the plurality of tracks. Meanwhile, the head includes a writing head recording information in units of sub-tracks, and a reading sensor reproducing the information in units of super-tracks.

    摘要: A recording medium including a ferroelectric layer, a nonvolatile memory device including the recording medium and methods of wiring and reading data in the memory device. The recording medium includes: a lower electrode; a ferroelectric layer to which data is recorded, formed on the lower electrode; a barrier layer formed on the ferroelectric layer; and a semiconductor layer formed on the barrier layer. The nonvolatile memory device includes a probe that reads and writes the data. Furthermore, in the method of writing data, a writing voltage is applied between the probe, which contacts the semiconductor layer, and the lower electrode and, in the method of reading data, a state of a remanent polarization of the ferroelectric layer is determined by applying a reading voltage between the probe and the semiconductor layer.
