Abstract: An AP/PCP may perform user selection/pairing/grouping based on a measurement of an analog transmission (e.g., signal to noise ratio (SNR) or signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR)). The SNRs may be used, for example by the station, to determine best beams and/or beam pairs and/or worst beams and/or beam pairs. A station may feed back the best few beams and/or beam pairs for a Tx and Rx virtual antenna pair. A station may feed back the worst few beams for the Tx and Rx virtual antenna pair. The AP/PCP may receive the indication(s) and/or use the indication(s) to group the stations.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for performing wake-up radio (WUR) are described herein. A receiving device may comprise a receiver configured to receive a first preamble using a first frequency range. The receiver may be configured to receive, using the first frequency range, a WUR packet after the first preamble, wherein a bandwidth associated with the first WUR packet is smaller than a bandwidth associated with the first preamble. The receiving device may be further configured to receive a second preamble and a second WUR packet, wherein the first preamble is frequency division multiplexed with the second preamble and the first WUR packet is frequency division multiplexed with the second WUR packet, and wherein a bandwidth associated with the second WUR packet is smaller than a bandwidth associated with the second preamble. The first WUR packet and the second WUR packet may have an equal duration of transmission.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) communicating in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system may use efficient acknowledgement (ACK) setup and transmission procedures in conjunction with other transmission and power saving techniques, such as target wake time/restricted access window (TWT/RAW), power save multi-poll (PSMP) and/or transmission opportunity (TXOP) mechanisms. In an example, a WTRU may transmit a frame including an indication that a TWT/RAW (or TXOP) period is scheduled, an indication that multi-WTRU acknowledgement (ACK)/block ACK (BA) will be used for acknowledgement, and/or targeted transmission time(s) for the transmission of multi-WTRU ACK/BA frame(s). The WTRU may trigger the start of the TWT/RAW period, and may receive at least one data frame from another WTRU(s). The WTRU may transmit multi-WTRU ACK/BA frame(s) during the targeted transmission time(s) to acknowledge the at least one data frame received from the other WTRU(s).

Abstract: A method and apparatus for operation by an access point (AP) is provided. The method may comprise receiving a first frame from a first STA, the first frame including first data and receiving a second frame from a second STA, the second frame including second data. In response to the receiving, an acknowledgement (ACK) frame may be transmitted to the first STA and to the second STA. The ACK frame may be addressed to a broadcast address and include a field which indicates whether the ACK frame is a multiple traffic identifier (multi-TID) block ACK frame format or another ACK frame format.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for multi-resolution training, for example, in millimeter wave (mmW) WLAN systems. In a Multi-Resolution Beam Refinement Protocol (MR-BRP), an access point (AP)/PBSS control point (PCP) and a station (STA) may perform multi-resolution beamforming training, for example, by changing a sub-beam resolution or by maintaining sub-beam resolution while changing a resolution of the beamforming training between levels or stages of training. Sub-beam resolution may be changed, for example, by assigning different angular spreads to or by downselecting a number of antenna elements while keeping inter-element spacing constant between levels of training. Resolution of beamforming training may be changed, for example, by downsampling sub-beams or by downsampling antenna elements while adjusting inter-element spacing. Beamforming training (e.g. refinement) levels may refine beams by changing a resolution of antenna weight vectors (AWVs). An AP/PCP and STA may search through a sector multiple times with sub-beams of different resolution to identify a correct pair of sub-beams at a desired resolution. MR-BRP may be used for single or multiple beams, for example, to generate M sub-beams (AWVs) for N beams sequentially or in parallel. MR-BRP may be used for beam tracking. Devices may save the best sub-beam at each level of MR-BRP and may revert (fall back) to a sub-beam at previous level. MR-BRP signaling may indicate MR-BRP capability, type, frame format, etc.

Abstract: Procedures and mechanisms for narrowband multi-channel transmission for wakeup radio (WUR) operation are disclosed. A station (STA) operating in WUR mode may have its a primary connectivity radio (PCR) turned off and its WUR turned and operating according to previously negotiated WUR operating parameters. The STA may monitor, for WUR beacons and frames over a first WUR channel, and determine that the first WUR channel does not support reliable transmission based on no beacons being received within a first duration. The STA may turn off the WUR, and turn on the PCR to send a first short WUR frame including a wakeup reason, and receive a second short WUR frame with a WUR channel assignment. The STA may turn off the PCR, turn on the WUR, and monitor for WUR signals on a second WUR channel according to the WUR channel assignment and the previously negotiated WUR operating parameters.

Abstract: A single input single output (SISO) data transmission may solicit a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) rank adaptation information. A number of transmit chain for transmission may be determined, e.g., by an access point (AP). A physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) may be transmitted, e.g., to a station (STA). The PPDU may include data and training (TRN) sequences. The number of TRN sequences may be equal to the number of transmit chains. The PPDU may include information associated with the determined number of transmit chains for transmission. Feedback may be received, e.g., from the STA. The feedback may include information that identifies a transmit chain associated with the transmitted TRN sequences and/or a channel measurement associated with the identified transmit chain. A subsequent PPDU may be transmitted based on the channel measurement associated with the identified transmit chain from the received feedback.

Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may be configured to perform wake up radio (WUR) for one or more WUR receivers. For example, the WTRU may transmit a common preamble to a first WUR receiver using a first frequency range. The WTRU may transmit a first WUR packet to the WUR receiver, after the common preamble. The WTRU may transmit the common preamble to a second WUR receiver using a second frequency range. The WTRU may transmit a second WUR packet after the common preamble, The bandwidth associated with the second WUR packet and the bandwidth associated with the first WUR packet may be smaller than the bandwidth associated with the common preamble, which may avoid interference from other transmitters {e.g., 802.11 transmitters, 802.11 stations, and 802.11 radios). The bandwidth associated with the first WUR packet and the bandwidth associated with the second WUR packet may not be coextensive with one another.

The second ANQP message may comprise a CCC value representing a configuration instance of the AP which is incremented by one upon a configuration change. The CCC value may wrap around once a maximum value is reached. The first ANQP message may comprise the CCC value or may comprise another CCC value which is different than the CCC value.
