    Abstract: An indicator (6011, 6012, 6013) associated with transmission of a plurality of repetitions (351) of data (6001, 6001-1, 6001-2, 6005) to a second device (112) is broadcasted on an open spectrum. The indicator (6011, 6012, 6013) is for control of contention-based access to the open spectrum by at least one further device (131). In response to said transmitting of the indicator (6011, 6012, 6013): a subset (6021, 6022, 6023) of the plurality of repetitions (351) of the data (6001, 6001-1, 6001-2, 6005) is transmitted on the open spectrum to the second device (112).

    Abstract: A method for monitoring wireless data communication by a user equipment connected to a wireless data network is disclosed. The method, which is performed by the user equipment, comprises the a) receiving at least one signal, wherein the at least one signal comprises at least one characteristic of a wake-up signal, b) determining whether the at least one signal is a wake-up signal or a false alarm wake-up signal, and c) reporting, based on said determining, information on the at least one signal to the wireless data network.

A node (100) of the mobile communication network obtains positioning data of a UE (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16). The node (100) correlates the positioning data to a coverage area of the second cell (210, 220, 230, 240). Depending on the correlation of the positioning data and the coverage area of the second cell (210, 220, 230, 240), the node (100) selects between an active state and an inactive state of the second cell (210, 220, 230, 240). In accordance with the selected state, the node controls a base station of the second cell (210, 220, 230, 240).

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method (20) for operating a mobile device (10). The mobile device (10) is configured to download a media stream comprising a plurality of data segments (S1-Sn) and to playback the media stream during download. The media stream is downloaded as a plurality of blocks of data segments and each block of data segments comprises a set of the plurality of data segments (S1-Sn) representing a corresponding media stream portion of the media stream. According to the method, a required playback time (T) for a next block of data segments to be downloaded is determined depending on a predetermined required minimum playback time (C) which defines a required minimum time duration for playing back the media stream portion provided by the next block of data segments.

    Abstract: A method of operating a terminal device and network infrastructure equipment in a wireless telecommunications system for communicating on a primary cell supporting a primary component carrier on radio resources within a first frequency band and a secondary cell supporting a secondary component carrier on radio resources within a second frequency band. The infrastructure equipment establishes a plural configuration settings for the secondary carrier based on measurements of radio usage in the second frequency band, which are conveyed to the terminal device. The terminal device makes channel quality measurements for the secondary component carrier according to the different configuration settings and reports these to the infrastructure equipment. Based on the measurements of channel quality for the different configurations, the infrastructure equipment selects one of the configuration settings, and conveys an indication of this to the terminal device in association with an allocation of transmission resources on the secondary component carrier.

    Abstract: A user equipment (30) has an idle mode and a connected mode and is configured to perform discontinuous reception when in the connected mode. The user equipment (30) comprises a wireless interface (31) configured to receive a message from a mobile communication network (10, 14, 15) causing the user equipment (30) to make a transition from the connected mode to the idle mode after inactivity of the user equipment (30) for a time period defined by an inactivity timer value. A processing device (32) is configured to determine whether the inactivity timer value is to be adjusted in the mobile communication network (10, 14, 15), and to control the wireless interface (31) to transmit a signal to the mobile communication network (10, 14, 15) to request an adjustment of the inactivity timer value.
