摘要: An optical disc driving apparatus is provided for the access control system with respect to the optical disc, comprising emphasizing circuits which compensate for a decrease in the frequency response of a reproduced signal from an optical head and further comprising peak detection circuits for detecting envelopes of the output signals. The emphasizing circuits and peak detection circuits are not used for processing of the tracking servo sensor signal, therefore the compensation amount need not be accurately controlled. The characteristic of the reproduced signal of the optical disc is effectively utilized, thereby enabling the compensation amount to be used over a wider range from about a proper value to an excessive value. In addition, being able to use the compensation amount over a wider range results in a reduction in the number of separate stages of compensation.

摘要: Disclosed in a system for recording, reproducing, and/or erasing information as recording pits on a recording medium. This medium has guide grooves for recording reproducing, and/or erasing the informatin signal. A condition whereby the value which is obtained by subtracting the groove width from the groove pitch is larger than a width of the recording pits is satisfied. A predetermined position for recording, reproducing, and/or erasing is set between the guide grooves. Alternatively, a condition whereby the width of a guide groove is larger than the width of a recording pit is satisfied. A predetermined position for recording, reproducing, and/or erasing is set on the guide groove.

摘要: A recording light beam from an argon laser is modulated with an electrical recording signal and then recorded on a rotating disc-shaped record medium. Immediately after this recording, a recorded signal on the record medium is reproduced with a light beam from a helium-argon laser and converted into an electrical signal. Duty cycles of both signals are sensed by respective duty cycle sensors. A differential amplifier produces a differential signal between the sensed duty cycles and supplies it to an optical modulator arranged to control the output of the recording laser. The modulator controls the recording light beam to its optimum light level for recording in response to the differential signal which was detected just before its modulation.

摘要: A recording optical system forms a recording spot to record a pitted signal on a record surface. A first reproducing optical system forms a reproducing spot fixed with respect to the recording spot on the record surface for monitoring purposes, and a second reproducing optical system with the greater part of the optical components thereof common to the first reproducing optical system and also including a rotatable reflecting mirror for forming a tracking spot on the record surface. The tracking spot is movable on the recorded signal by the rotation of the mirror in response to the light reflected from the record surface for causing the tracking spot to accurately track the pitted signal on the record surface.
