摘要: Biomarkers for identifying trichogenic cells have been identified. The biomarkers include microRNA as wells as mRNA and proteins. Certain biomarkers are upregulated in trichogenic cells compared to non-trichogenic cells; whereas, other biomarkers are down-regulated in trichogenic cells compared to non-trichogenic cells. The cells can be dermal cells, epidermal cells, or a combination thereof. Preferably the cells are mammalian, more preferably the cells are human. One embodiment provides a method for selecting trichogenic cells by assaying the cells for expression of one or more biomarkers for trichogenicity, and selecting the cells having increased expression of the one or more biomarkers relative to a control, wherein increased expression of the a biomarker in the cells is indicative of trichogenicity. Preferably, the one or more biomarkers are selected from the group consisting of hsa-miR-200c, hsa-miR-205, hsa-miR-200a*, hsa-miR-200a, hsa-miR-141, hsa-miR-182, DEPDC1, hFLEG1, ESM1, TOME-1, THBD and combinations thereof.

摘要: Systems, methods, and devices are provided for maintaining a target white point on a light emitting diode based backlight. In one embodiment, the backlight may include two or more strings of light emitting diodes, each driven at a respective driving strength. Each string may include light emitting diodes from a different color bin, and the respective driving strengths may be adjusted, for example, through pulse width modulation or amplitude modulation, to maintain the target white point. In certain embodiments, the driving strengths may be adjusted to compensate for shifts in the white point that may occur due to temperature or aging. A controller may adjust the driving strengths based on feedback from a temperature sensor, from an optical sensor, from a user input, or from calibration data included within the backlight or system.

摘要: A method and system for temporal dithering of pixels in a display. The dithering of the pixels may allow for simulation of 8-bit color from a 6-bit display. Moreover, the dithering of the pixels may be selected to follow a specific pattern to minimize display artifacts, which might otherwise result from interference generated by pixel inversion techniques performed during the pixel dithering. Through application of selective dithering techniques, including utilization of specific dithering patterns, the generation of display artifacts via interference from pixel inversion techniques during the display of an image may be minimized.

摘要: A method and apparatus for a diffusion tip for use with a fuel nozzle is described. The diffusion tip has a substantially circular body including an outer surface and an opposite inner surface. The diffusion tip body extends from a discharge end to an inlet end. The diffusion tip includes an inlet surface adjacent to the discharge end and defined within the body. A discharge surface is defined opposite the inlet surface. A plurality of diffusion apertures each extend between the discharge surface and the inlet surface, each aperture is oriented relative to the body to discharge a diffusion flow outward therefrom at an angle γ (gamma) measured in an X-Z plane between a centerline of the aperture and an X-axis extending tangentially to the outer surface, and at an angle θ (theta) measured in a Y-Z plane between the centerline of the aperture and a Y-axis extending radially outward from the centerline.
