    摘要: Provided are a method and apparatus for determining coding for coefficients of a residual block, an encoder and a decoder. The method includes generating a residual block by subtracting a motion-compensated prediction block from the current block; frequency-converting coefficients of the residual block into frequency coefficients; frequency-converting coefficients of the motion-compensated prediction block into frequency coefficients; and determining coding for each of the coefficients of the frequency-converted residual block based on the coefficients of the frequency-converted prediction block. Accordingly, the amount of information transferred to a decoder can be reduced by not coding some coefficients of the residual block.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for effectively predicting a video frame that use all of the advantages of an intra mode and an intra BL mode in multi-layer structure based-video coding. The method includes reconstructing the intra block of a lower layer using the previously reconstructed first neighboring blocks of the intra block; subtracting the first neighboring blocks from previously stored the second neighboring blocks of an upper layer corresponding to the first neighboring blocks; creating a differential predicted block based on a predetermined intra prediction mode by performing intra prediction using virtual differential neighboring blocks that are created as a result of the subtraction; adding the differential predicted block and the reconstructed intra block; and subtracting a predicted block, which is created as a result of the addition, from a block of the upper layer corresponding to the intra block.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for reproducing multimedia contents regardless of the type and version of a codec, an apparatus and method for generating multimedia contents, and a storage medium storing multimedia contents are provided. The multimedia reproducing apparatus includes: a reading unit which reads multimedia data including multimedia contents coupled with a codec for decoding the multimedia contents, from a storage medium; and a reproducing unit which reproduces multimedia contents by using the codec extracted from the read multimedia data. Regardless of codec upgrade or introduction of a new codec with a new method, various types of multimedia contents can be smoothly reproduced.
