    摘要: Apparatus for protecting the armature of an electric motor against excessive temperatures comprises a resiliently compressible and expansible pad in the armature circuit and composed of thermally sensitive, non-conductive material containing a plurality of conductive particles engageable with one another when the pad is in a compressed condition to establish a conductive path through the pad. The pad normally is maintained in a compressed, conductive condition by resilient force applying means which is of such resilience as to permit expansion of the pad in response to an increase in its temperature and render the pad non-conductive.

    摘要: A combination gas valve in which means associated with the main diaphragm valve is provided for opening the valve in a stepped manner. The combination valve includes an electromagnetic operator which controls the pressure differential across the main diaphragm valve so as to open and close it. The main valve seat surrounds a concentrically located recessed secondary valve seat. Slidably located on a stem extending from the main diaphragm valve, a secondary valve plate having a plurality of orifices therein is adapted to mate with the secondary valve seat so that initial opening of the main valve allows flow only through the orifices in the secondary valve and further opening of the main valve disengages the secondary valve from its seat, thus allowing full flow. On full flow conditions, a servo regulator provides a regulated output.

    摘要: Magnetic circuit apparatus for use in an electronic ignition system of a combustion engine having one or more spark ignition devices comprises a magnetically permeable frame on which is supported a field magnet and a Hall Effect pulse generator in spaced apart relation such that the field magnet and frame provide a magnetic flux path to which the pulse generator periodically is exposed to produce successive pulses in timed relation to the speed of operation of the engine. A bias magnet confronts the pulse generator at that side of the latter which is opposite to the field magnet and has a polarity opposite that of the field magnet. The flux density of the bias magnet is substantially less than that of the field magnet.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for anchoring the starting end of the lacing cord and knotting the finishing end following lacing of the end turns of a dynamoelectric machine stator winding using the lacing machine and method which laces the cord about the end turns in a stitch pattern having double looped stitch intervals with a loop connecting each successive double looped stitch, such as that described and illustrated in U.S. Pat. No. 3,659,337. The starting end of the lacing cord is clamped at a point spaced from the dispensing end of the cord feeding tube in a direction opposite the direction of indexing the stator core member during the lacing operation. At the completion of the formation of the first double looped stitch during which the starting end is laced under a part of the stitch and thus anchored, the stator is indexed with the starting end being pulled through the clamp under tension and the end turn lacing operation proceeds in the normal manner around the stator with the starting end being laced under and anchored by the double loop stitches. At the conclusion of the normal lacing operation, a final loop of the lacing cord is pulled through the last one of the connecting loops, the section of the cord which extends between the dispensing end of the feeding tube and the radially inner side of the end turns is cut thereby forming a finishing end of the cord and a new starting end, and the finishing end is pulled through the last connecting loop to form a knot, the new starting end being again clamped preparatory to a new lacing operation.

    摘要: A dual shut-off gas control device having a diaphragm operated valve and a control valve disposed in series in the main flow path to control the flow of fuel to a main burner. A single bimetal element acts to operate both a bleed valve and a control or automatic valve in a sequential manner when heated by a thermostatically controlled heater. The bleed valve includes an inlet bleed valve connected to the inlet, an outlet bleed valve connected to an outlet pressure chamber and an outlet connected to an operating pressure chamber. The main diaphragm responds to a pressure differential between the outlet pressure chamber and the operating pressure chamber. Outlet pressure regulation is provided by a diaphragm operated pressure regulator valve which has its inlet connected to the outlet of the bleed valve and its outlet connected to the outlet of the control device. Dual shutoff of the main flow path is provided by the main diaphragm operated valve and the automatic valve and dual shut-off of the bleed flow path is provided by the inlet bleed valve and the pressure regulator valve. A modification of the main diaphragm operated valve provides for a step opening.
