The process is controlled to initially melt and infiltrating a filler material into the sintered ultra-hard body to form a filler region having interstitial regions filled with the filler material. The filler region extends a partial depth into the sintered ultra-hard body and is formed at a temperature below the melting temperature of an infiltrant material. Next, the process is controlled to melt and infiltrate the infiltrant material into the sintered ultra-hard body to form an infiltrant region that extends a partial depth into the sintered ultra-hard body. A portion of the filler region and/or the infiltrant region may be removed to form a thermally stable region.

A method for making dynamic borehole azimuth measurements while drilling includes processing cross-axial magnetic field measurements in combination with accelerometer measurements to compute the dynamic borehole azimuth. In one or more embodiments, the cross-axial magnetic field measurements and the accelerometer measurements may be used to compute the magnitude of a cross-axial magnetic field component, a toolface offset, and a borehole inclination, which may in turn be used to compute the dynamic borehole azimuth. The disclosed methods may utilize near-bit sensor measurements obtained while drilling, thereby enabling a near-bit dynamic borehole azimuth to be computed while drilling.

Spray assemblies for use in coating a regular or irregular internal surface of a cylinder, and methods for coating the inside of a cylinder are disclosed. The spray assemblies may include: a spray head comprising a nozzle for spraying a coating material on an internal surface of a cylinder; a support wand coupled to the spray head; and a roller sleeve rotatably connected to the support wand and configured to contact the internal surface of the cylinder and to rotate radially as the cylinder is rotated. The spray assemblies may be used to provide a consistent and repeatable coating thickness, regardless of cylinder internal diameter. In some embodiments, the spray assemblies may be used to coat the internal surface of a stator tube.
