Abstract:
Provided is a fluid filtration unit including a housing accommodating a stationary cylindrical filter element, defining a raw fluid chamber extending between an inlet of the housing and raw fluid face of the cylindrical filter element, and a filtered fluid chamber extending between a filtered fluid face of the filter element and an outlet from the housing. A flushing and backspraying assembly includes at least one flushing pipe coupled to a lower pressure source and extending within the raw fluid chamber, and configured with a plurality of flushing nozzles disposed in close proximity with the raw fluid face of the filter element, and at least one backspraying arm coupled to a pressurized fluid source and extending within the filtered fluid chamber and configured with an array of backspraying nozzles disposed in close proximity with the filtered fluid face of the filter element, and a driving mechanism for selectively imparting the flushing and backspraying assembly with rotary and linear motion.
Abstract:
A filtering device for treating ballast water and more particularly, a multicage-type device for filtering ballast water to prevent back pressure, wherein the multicage-type device for filtering ballast water includes a back pressure prevention tank on a backwash line for backwashing and discharging foreign substances that are inside a filter of the device for filtering, so that backwash water and the foreign substances in the backwash line are preliminarily stored in the back pressure prevention tank thereby preventing an increase of back pressure and preventing an increase of the back pressure on the backwash line by always maintaining a level of water inside the back pressure prevention tank at lower than an inlet port that is connected to the backwash line.
Abstract:
A backwash arrangement for cleaning a cylindrical filter screen includes a cylindrical filter screen within which extends an axial central conduit. A number of radial branch conduits extend outwards from the central conduit towards the cylindrical filter screen, each provided with a spring-loaded nozzle arrangement. The spring-loaded nozzle arrangement is biased into contact with the cylindrical filter screen, and includes a nozzle opening for passing across the cylindrical filter screen, and a pair of wheels deployed on opposing sides of the nozzle opening for rolling engagement with the cylindrical filter screen.
Abstract:
A fluid filtering apparatus such as for filtering particulates and other materials from treated water includes a tank and a filtering region configured as a plurality of individual effluent regions, defined in part by channel frames, disposed between a plurality of influent regions interposed between the effluent regions. Filter plates having an opening therethrough covered by a filter media are removable receivable in the channel frames, such that filter media in filter plates in adjacent channel frames is in a facing, opposed, relationship. A double sided backwash shoe is scannable in the influent regions, to simultaneously clean opposed filter media exposed thereto. The backwash shoe is free to move inwardly and outwardly of the opposed filter media. Additionally, the tank may include a second filtering region, which is selectively isolatable from the first filtering region.
Abstract:
A backwash header for a cloth filter includes a body having a length, a diameter, first and second ends, a longitudinal axis, and an exterior surface, the body defining at least one internal cavity. The body includes at least one suction slot sized to allow fluids and solids to enter the internal cavity from outside of the exterior surface. A structure is attached to a portion of the exterior surface of the body around and extending away from the suction slot to form an open-ended chamber defined by the structure and a portion of the exterior surface near the suction slot. The structure allows fluids and solids to enter the open-ended chamber and then the suction slot and cavity from a material being cleaned. Cloth filters and methods of treating water and wastewater using the backwash headers and cloth filters.

A backwash header for a cloth filter disk includes a body having a length a diameter, first and second ends, a longitudinal axis, and an exterior surface, the body defining at least one internal cavity. The body includes at least one suction slot configured to allow fluids and solids to enter the internal cavity from outside of the exterior surface. A structure is attached to a portion of the exterior surface of the body around and extending away from the suction slot to form a chamber defined by the structure and a portion of the exterior surface near the suction slot. The structure is configured to allow fluids and solids to enter the chamber and then the suction slot and cavity from a material being cleaned. Cloth disk filters and methods of treating water and wastewater using the backwash headers and cloth disk filters.
Abstract:
A reversible-flow filter with a filter insert in a filter housing, the inner space of which being connected to a fluid inlet, an outlet and a backwash device being rotatable and having a backwash body with a washing gap, reaching near the surface of the filter wall, for cleaning off the filter wall in backwash operation. The backwash device is coupled at one axial end to a rotary drive and at its other end to a sludge discharge. The backwash body having a suckaway slot openable into the inner space, separate from the washing gap and having a larger opening cross-section than the washing gap, wherein the backwash device has a hollow shaft partially movable in relation to the backwash body and rotatable for connecting the washing gap or suckaway slot to the sludge discharge as a function of the relative position between the backwash body and the hollow shaft.
Abstract:
Provided is a fluid flow diverting system including a housing configured with at least one fluid conduit and being selectively open or closed by a plane blade-type gate member configured with one or more openings and displaceable between at least one open position facilitating fluid flow through one or more of the at least one fluid conduit, and at least one closed position prohibiting fluid flow through one or more of the at least one fluid conduit.

Abstract:
Provided are a suction apparatus for a fabric filter and a filtering device for liquid filtration using the same. A main suction slit and a sub-suction slit are provided in parallel by a partition. Thereby, pile threads undergo delayed straightening and fluctuation while going through the sub-suction slit and then are rapidly straightened in the main suction slit. Thus, a back-washing effect can be further improved.
