Abstract:
Products having improved emboss definition, emboss visibility, and perceived softness are described. The tissue products comprise an emboss pattern including multi-apex, high aspect ratio embossing elements that do not suffer from the prior art issues of bunching, puckering and folding. When included in a multi-ply product, the embossed tissue also possesses less adhesive than prior art patterns resulting in a product with improved softness and drape.
Abstract:
The invention proposes an embossed sheet (10) comprising at least one ply (12) of tissue having an embossing pattern comprising at least one series of protuberances (18) formed projecting from one surface of the said ply (12) of tissue, and at least one ply joined to the said at least one ply (12) of tissue and located opposite the said surface of the ply (14) of water-soluble material, characterized in that the ply (14) of water-soluble material is joined to the said at least one ply (12) of tissue at the summits (18a) of at least part of the protuberances (18). The invention also proposes a method for manufacturing such a multi-ply sheet (10).
Abstract:
The aim of the invention is to create an embossing device for at least two-layered planar products such as toilet paper, tissues, or similar, which makes it possible to easily make high-quality planar products that are provided with decorative patterns. The aim is achieved by an embossing device for at least two-layered planar products such as toilet paper, tissues, and similar. Also, the embossing device has at least one first and at least one second couple of rollers, each of which is composed of an embossing roller and a squeezer.
Abstract:
Support apparatus for embossing rolls comprising a fixed structure (1) with two sides (10), which provide multiple supports for one or more embossing rolls (2) having the respective horizontal axes between said sides (10) and being connected with corresponding motors (45) which make the rolls rotate around the respective axes at a preset angular velocity, characterized in that each of said supports is of the collar type (3) coaxial with and external to the axis of the respective embossing roll (2) and made by two elements (30, 31), one (30) being fixed and the other one (31) mobile, the mobile element (31) realizing the closing and, respectively, the opening of the collar (3) around the axis of the embossing roll (2) by means of an actuator (4; 62) controlled by a corresponding control device.
Abstract:
A process for determining the placement of an adhesive relative to an emboss pattern is disclosed. The disclosed process is suitable for forming an embossed multi-ply substrate. The process comprises the steps of: 1. Providing the emboss pattern as a pattern of elements; 2. Providing a grid comprising a plurality of vertices, the grid corresponds to an adhesive application pattern; 3. Providing each vertex of the plurality of vertices with an initial position; and, 4. Overlaying said emboss pattern upon said grid.
Abstract:
Method of manufacturing a hygiene paper product in form of a continuous paper web (W) of sheets partly separated by perforation lines (9) and wound to a log of predetermined longitudinal length, providing a continuous paper web (W), moving the continuous paper web in a direction of its longitudinal extension, providing at least one embossed pattern on the continuous paper web, providing in the area of an embossing station at least one mark (6, 7) onto the continuous paper web, which mark (6, 7) is in register to the embossed pattern, sensing the mark and controlling perforating means for registering the perforation lines (9) with the embossed pattern thereby imparting perforation lines to the continuous paper web in predetermined longitudinal distances, winding up the resulting web to logs, and cutting the log into rolls.
Abstract:
A high bulk laminated board is produced using one or more embossed plies. A method of producing the laminated board comprises: embossing first and second plies to produce first embossed projections extending from first sides of the first and second plies; placing adhesive on the first embossed projections on the first side of each of the first and second embossed plies; bringing the first and second plies together such that the first embossed projections on the first and second embossed plies are aligned; applying pressure to the first side of each of the first and second embossed plies to cause the first and second embossed plies to adhere together to form a composite ply; and adhering first and second flat outer plies onto first and second sides of the composite ply. Corresponding apparatus is provided.
Abstract:
An apparatus for providing a multi-ply embossed paper product having a first pressure roll; an embossing roll with a plurality of embossing protrusions, each embossing protrusion comprises a distal end; an adhesive application roll; a marrying roll; and a second pressure roll. The first pressure roll and the embossing roll are juxtaposed in an axially parallel relationship to form a first nip therebetween. The first nip has a first nip width. The first pressure roll and the embossing roll are adapted to receive a first paper web at the first nip. The adhesive application roll and the embossing roll are juxtaposed in an axially parallel relationship to form a gap therebetween. The adhesive application roll and the embossing roll are adapted to receive the first paper web, after the first paper web has traversed the first nip, at the gap. The marrying roll is juxtaposed in an axially parallel relationship with the embossing roll to form a third nip therebetween. The marrying roll and embossing roll are adapted to receive the first paper web and a second paper web, after the first paper web has traversed the gap, and marry the first paper web to the second paper web at the third nip. The second pressure roll and the embossing roll are juxtaposed in an axially parallel relationship to form a second nip therebetween. The second nip has a second nip width, and wherein the second pressure roll and embossing roll are adapted to receive the first paper web and the second paper web, after the first paper web and the second paper web have traversed the third nip, at the second nip.
Abstract:
