Abstract:
A system (100) for locating an object (114) includes a signal source (102) that generates a wideband signal (104) that includes a continuously variable frequency from a first frequency to a second frequency, a microwave metamaterial leaky wave antenna (106) that receives the wideband signal as an input and maps the wideband signal from the first frequency to the second frequency as electromagnetic radiation that increases as a function of an azimuthal direction (108,110,112), the microwave metamaterial leaky wave antenna (106) positionable to face toward an object that is within its field-of-view FOV, wherein the transceiver assembly is positioned to receive the electromagnetic radiation that is reflected from the object and convert the reflected electromagnetic radiation to a reflected electrical signal, and an analyzer (118) configured to identify a main beam frequency of the reflected electrical signal and determine an azimuthal angle (108,110,112) and distance to the object based on the main beam frequency.
Abstract:
Provided herein is a compact and economical direction finding antenna using a mono-pulse antenna system, where a plurality of antenna elements are disposed in a circular array. The directional antennas may be formed by any type of antenna element, including a patch or reflector. The antenna beams of the directional antenna elements overlap, so that from any azimuthal direction, the point is covered by more than one antenna beam. Signals from each pair of adjacent antenna elements of the circular array are processed in order to determine the angle of arrival of a received signal.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a portable directional antenna which is equipped with a camera which is integrated into the housing of the directional antenna. In addition to the conventional documentation of the position-finding information, this integrated, installed camera makes it possible, by means of the directional antenna function, to also optically document the surroundings of the interference source with a variable level of detail, for example by way long-range or short-range capture. By way of the optical additional information thus obtained, the present invention provides a simple, but nonetheless very effective, enhanced documentation option for interference sources and the surroundings thereof. Thus, during the search for radio-frequency interferences, no separate camera for capturing image information has to be brought along, and this increases the comfort for a user. The present invention further relates to a portable measurement arrangement and to a method for measuring an electromagnetic signal emitted by a source.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present application relates to the technical field of wireless communications, in particular to a positioning information determination method and device, for solving the problem of large positioning result errors in the prior art due to the fact that existing positioning methods cannot acquire the height difference between a UE and a base station. The positioning information determination method provided in the embodiment of the present invention comprises: a base station receives an uplink signal from a UE; and the base station determines the angle of arrival, beam declination angle and timing advance of the UE according to the received uplink signal. By determining the angle of arrival, beam declination angle and timing advance of a UE according to the received uplink signal, the base station determines the height difference between the UE and the base station according to the beam declination angle, thus reducing positioning result error and improving positioning precision.
Abstract:
A device and method for tracking a signal of interest from a signal transmitting device, in the presence of cross-polarization or adjacent emitter interference, is provided. An antenna, which may have a beamwidth greater than an angular spacing of geo-stationary transmitting device, is used to receive the signal of interest from a transmitting device. The received signal of interest is analyzed to determine a frequency characteristic of the received signal of interest, and a filter of a plurality of filters is selected based on the determined bandwidth of the signal of interest. The selected filter is applied to the received signal of interest.

Abstract:
A self-contained portable unit with an integral access control and tracking system, which provides a portable, unmanned, entry and access control system. The system for logging tagged assets while simultaneously allowing or denying access to a perimeter area and egress from a perimeter area of vehicular, human and animal traffic. The system monitors and/or records radio frequency identification tagged assets and stops assets with radio frequency identification tags from entering a site unless a login/logout device is used with libraries of login information. The system can generate on-site audible and visual alarms and generate reports on asset movement and non-asset non-tagged movement.

Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method for positioning a user equipment and a positioning server and relates to the field of wireless positioning technologies. The method includes: acquiring a round trip time and information about an angle of arrival of the user equipment relative to a serving base station that serves the user equipment, where the information about the angle of arrival includes information about a horizontal angle of arrival and information about a vertical angle of arrival; and performing positioning to obtain three-dimensional location information of the user equipment according to the round trip time and the information about the angle of arrival. Positioning can be performed to obtain three-dimensional location information of the user equipment by implementing the technical solutions in the present invention, so as to resolve a problem of accurately positioning a location of the user equipment in an urban environment full of skyscrapers.
