Abstract:
A communication method includes the steps of receiving a call from a caller for connection to a subscriber, attempting a connection to the subscriber and retrieving a media file associated with the subscriber. The media file is played to the caller during a ring-back period of the attempted connection, playing of the media file to the caller is charged to the provider of the media file.
Abstract:
The embodiment of the invention provides a media resource adaptation method, a media gateway controller and a server. In an embodiment of the invention, the services, the CTIS and the MGC are deployed in the center, each dispersed area is only equipped with the access equipment or the resource equipment, the deployment structure is simple, and the maintenance workload is less. The CTIS decides the resource adaptation, and the resource can be extended to the service sides. Therefore, the resource usage is flexible. The user terminal call can obtain the local media services, which reduces the occupancy of a VoIP long-distance link, thus lowering the operation cost. Furthermore, the global share of the media resources is realized, which is favorable for load balance and reduces the cost of redundancy devices.
Abstract:
A system for generating usage statistics for a communications routing system from data generated at routing points and at end points of the system has a processor having access to the communications routing system for analyzing the data and generating the statistics, and a server having access to the processor for rendering the generated statistics into a format for display. The data used to generate the statistics includes routing path information for events routed through the communications routing system and optionally interaction histories recorded at certain routing points and end points in the communications routing system.
Abstract:
A method of dynamically allocating usage of a shared resource between user A and user B includes the steps of establishing an initial allocation percentage for user B for using the shared resource and establishing a threshold allocation percentage for user B. The allocation percentage is modified for user B based on the availability of the shared resource to user A. If the shared resource is unavailable to user A, the allocation percentage for user B is decreased. If the shared resource is available to user A, the allocation percentage for user B is increased. Usage of the shared resource by user B is allocated in accordance with the modified allocation percentage provided that the modified allocation percentage is less than a pre-set threshold level. The method is particularly useful in dynamically allocating telephone calls into call centers.

Abstract:
A method for querying by telephone a receiver centre (2) is characterised in that the querying party dials the telephone number of the receiver center (2) using a fixed or mobile apparatus (1) capable of receiving data (3,4,5,6,7), via a telephone network or data transmission, allowing the called telephone bell to ring a specific number of times, the receiver centre (2) automatically identifies the call number of the querying party and the number of ringing signals and automatically transmits to that number a reply (3,4,5,6,7) audible or visible on the fixed or mobile apparatus (1), the reply corresponding to the number of specific ringing signals. The invention is applicable to queries by telephone.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer program products for detecting fraudulent message service message traffic are disclosed. According to one method, message service messages are monitored. It is determined that the message service message traffic indicates that the message service message traffic is fraudulent based on detection of at least one of: 1) message service message traffic received at a first network from a second network, where the traffic includes at least one message with an SCCP calling party address internal to the first network, 2) a volume of message service message traffic received at the first network from the second network that exceeds the volume of message service message traffic sent by the first network to the second network by a threshold amount, and 3) message service message traffic that is sent to a dark number. In response to detecting fraudulent message service message traffic, a mitigating action is performed.
Abstract:
A telephone call distribution system for determining destination for an incoming telephone call in a telephony network including a service control point (SCP) operates with a plurality of workstations each comprising a telephone coupled to the telephony network and a proximate computer station having a video display unit (PC/VDU), the PC/VDO connected to the SCP via a wide area network (WAN), and a personal router associated with each PC/VDU. The SCP broadcasts data pertaining to the incoming telephone call and a request for a destination to individual ones of the PC/VDUs via the WAN, and the personal routers negotiate a destination based on individual routing rules and the data pertaining to the call. At least one of the individual routers responds to the SCP with a destination for the call. In some instances the workstations are associated with a call center, and the call center may be CTI-enhanced. Individual routers in this instance may be executed on a server on a local area network connecting workstations at the call center, the server providing individual routers to workstations in a client-server relationship.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a main apparatus of a communication system includes a storing unit that stores transmission times between each of a plurality of terminals and each of a plurality of conference apparatuses, to be associated with the plurality of terminals including a conference-holding terminal; a selecting unit that selects a conference apparatus among the plurality of conference apparatus which is least in the sum of the associated transmission times; and a notifying unit that notifies an conference ID of the selected conference apparatus to the plurality of terminals.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for providing a call set-up triggered push content to at least one receiving party via a first telecommunication network. The method includes performing a call control function in response to a call set-up from a calling party to a called party. The call control function operates on at least one call parameter. The method further includes applying application logic based upon the at least one call parameter for determining the at least one receiving party and the corresponding push content details of the at least one receiving party, and delivering the push content specified by the push content details to the at least one receiving party. The method further addresses inter-working between operators when the calling and called parties are subscribers of different operators.
